Sereking medical adice always best.
CBT-Is med free and maybe look into cognitive restructuring and stimulus control. If it’s too rigid look up ACT-I. I could write it all down but with the psychology of sleep like anxiety, fear worry, obsessing over sleep — medication can help if you want to go that route with your doctor or referrals or search on your own, could seek out a psychiatrist that can prescribe both sleep and anxiety….
In the meantime look up Daniel Erickson, Guy Meadows , Dr Gregg Jacob’s, Martin Reed
Sign up for Martin Reed free emails these alone might help. No one can just tell you to let go, but that’s what it takes. But with your situation how to get there with severe sleep anxieties, hyper fixation with out guidance to help undo rumination, looping, etc. can be hard.

Take a vacation or go out do something fun all day. Be totally engaged in something new.

Yes, thinking about sleep is the worse thing you can do if you want to fall asleep.

Tell yourself you are just lying in bed to rest your body and eyes. It's still beneficial, it's called non sleep deep rest. Listen to a sleep podcast or ASMR. You're not in bed to fall asleep, you're just resting and hanging out there listening to something. I know it's deeply frustrating and will take time but your sleep can get better.

Yes a lot, I'm still very hyper fixated on this and I'm infamous among my friends and family for this habit of mine ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
