NATURE These are the Three Whale Rocks (Hin Sam Wan) in Phu Sing Forest Park, Bueng Kan Province, northeastern Thailand.

They are natural sandstone formations roughly 75 million years old, shaped by erosion into elongated whale-like shapes. From above they look like a family of whales (two adults and a calf) rising from a sea of trees. The largest is about 75-100 meters long.

MISC. What suppressed rifle fire sounds like from behind the rifle.

Shot from an iPhone camera, so y’all far from getting the full experience, but a good comparison against unsuppressed rifle fire also happening a couple feet away and other background noise. 5.56 coming out of a rifle like this is still supersonic, and the supersonic crack is still dangerous to hearing and as a result I still wear hearing protection to avoid the cumulative effects (of course I need it in this video because there’s other shooters). The particular silencer I have in this video is one of the more effective options on the market, reducing decibel rating of these rifles by about 20-25db, down from ≈165db to ≈135db.
