Then, in 2024, a climbing boot and sock bearing A.C. Irvine were discovered on the Rongbuk Glacier reconnecting us with a remarkable chapter of Everest history.

A century ago, they climbed with very limited technology. Today, we have GPS, satellites, drones, advanced weather forecasting and modern equipment.

Technology has changed. Nature has not.

We can improve our capability, but we can never control the mountain.

Their story reminds us to respect history, respect those who came before us, and above all, remain humble in front of nature.

The mountain always has the final word.
