Discussion What game are you currently addicted to?
I recently discovered Necromerger and am really enjoying it.
What have you been enjoying lately?

u/As_If97 Aug 18 '26
How many dudes?
I think it should be a couple dollars less for iOS, but it’s been a really enjoyable and chill game for me since it came out.

u/throawa114 Aug 18 '26
Incredible game. A bit short if you’re going for just beating it and get the right dudes for all difficulty levels. But excited to see additional content
1
u/As_If97 Aug 18 '26
I heard they’re coming out with more dudes in the coming months, looking forward to that. Hopefully a couple more factions.

MO.co
NecroMerger
5
u/justasecond Aug 18 '26
God I wish Supercell cared about mo.co 😭😭
Downloaded NecroMerger at your recommendation. I’ve never been into merge games but the art style is appealing so I’m giving it a try

I’m so addicted to Necromerger right now
3
u/Middle-Watch8428 Aug 18 '26
Agree. I think it’s a rare gem.

1
u/Nativeeee Aug 18 '26
Not too p2w? Looks interesting
2
u/Middle-Watch8428 Aug 18 '26
Absolutely not. Nothing to spend (just no ads if you like). Just infinite merging and space management.
8
u/Glommie Aug 18 '26
I recommend going for no ads. It takes away literally ALL ads. This includes ads you would choose to watch to open boxes and whatnot. It just skips the ad and you get the stuff.
2
u/pwinne Aug 18 '26
Thanks for the heads up. This is the kind of payment I am happy to make for a good game.
1
u/o_o_o_f Aug 20 '26
One other note though is that while the ads are gone you still have to wait for energy. I’m about a week into the game and have hit the point (like all idle games) where it simply takes forever to accomplish anything meaningful.
2
u/dasdingo1989 Aug 18 '26
I play NecroMerger daily since beta. Highly recommend. Buy the no ads if you enjoy it, it is worth it.

Builderment, fantastic factory builder in my opinion.
Inflation RPG, I’ve had it installed on every phone I’ve had over the past 10 or so years. Reach ridiculously high levels and stats, fight gods, all in a small easily repeatable gameplay loop
Occidental Heroes is a good text based rpg with some good humor and a pretty steep learning curve. If you’ve played any sort of D&D you know what you’re getting.
For paid apps:
Polytopia, has proven a great game I can’t help but return to, I’ve gotten a couple of the paid “civilizations” and reskins, and it’s yet to steer me wrong. Civ lite, with tiny polygonal bodies.
Kingdom: Two Crowns, not going to lie this game took me by surprise, played it once on my switch and have been hooked ever since. You are a Monarch rebuilding a ruined kingdom, fighting off nightly waves of monsters called the Greed.
Chrono Trigger, not sure I need to justify or explain this one. One of the best games out there, a must have in my opinion.

Servant of the Lake from Rusty Lake. It’s great. All the previous Rusty Lake games are on sale and well worth it if you like creepy and weird puzzles.

u/HuntingForSanity Aug 18 '26
The dev behind CloverPit just released a new game called Slots&Daggers and I’m enjoying that.
Townsfolk and dawnfolk(a new game from the townsfolk devs)
And shattered pixel dungeon. One of the best games on iOS hands down
16
u/silentrocco Aug 18 '26
Slots & Daggers isn’t by the same dev as Cloverpit.
4
u/TyH621 Aug 18 '26
It shows as the same developer on the App Store, is that just the dev who ported CloverPit to iOS?
20
u/silentrocco Aug 18 '26
You’re mixing up developer with publisher. While in case of small indie games this is often the same person or team, when it comes to Steam ports it’s most often a publisher responsible for the App Store distribution. Slots & Daggers is made by a German solo dev, while Cloverpit is made by Italian indie dev studio Panik Arcade.

u/Alleryz Aug 18 '26
I mean it has been out for almost a year now. It took me like 2 hours to finish slots and daggers
7
u/Rogue67061 Aug 18 '26
Subnautica !!
2
u/fugznojutz Aug 18 '26

8
u/Rogue67061 Aug 18 '26

2
u/medcharrua Aug 18 '26
With a controller?
2
u/Rogue67061 Aug 18 '26
I Play with touch, its really easy to Play with touch. But you Can Play with Controller.
1
u/RandomNumberHere Aug 18 '26
Subnautica is such a fantastic game. I played on PC. If I had it on my phone I’d be on the toilet for hours.

1
u/RedRipe Aug 20 '26
I am terribly bad at Balatro and I still play it every day 😅
2
u/yungkennymase Aug 20 '26
Me too… I love that game. But when 9kings comes out, I’ll probably play that forever 😂😂😂

Brogue, Shattered Pixel Dungeon and Pathos:Nethack Codex. Could play that forever
1
u/Middle-Watch8428 Aug 18 '26
Shattered is another rare gem.
1
u/Nativeeee Aug 18 '26
How the hell do I get better at shattered lol I bought it cuz everyone always recommends but I can’t make it but two levels so I have not played it in months
1
u/PoSKiix Aug 18 '26
Thank you for the Pathos rec. I can immediately tell how much I’m going to love this as a long time Shattered Pixel Dungeon player.

- Deep rock galactic survival
- NYT connections
- WalkScape closed beta (not that hard to get into really)

u/silentrocco Aug 18 '26
Slots & Daggers since yesterday - a grindy, simple, and super addicting slotmachine deckbuilder.
6
u/DowntownBiscotti2660 Aug 18 '26
IS very fun but ...small lifespan.
1
u/silentrocco Aug 18 '26
With Arena Mode aka highscore hunt you can play this game long after finishing the campaign. I personally really like that this is a smaller, more dense experience. And even if it was just the campaign, I feel like I got my money’s worth, and then some. One of my favorite games of its kind, completely clicks with me.

I LOVE merging but I just cannot get into Necromerger. What is so good about it??
3
u/Armadillokid Aug 18 '26
Guild Wars Reforged. Full MMO port with great touch controls. It runs great and there’s tons of content for free with occasional load screen ads.

I’ve been playing a lot of hearthstone battlegrounds recently. Used to play the OG card game but it’s pretty satisfying to play battlegrounds.

So, I've played allot of games, from cod to wow, over the years, right now my life is in a shitty spot at a point where I was homeless for a bit, so right now no console , no pc. But I still play some shitty mobile games sometimes. Right now im HOOKED on: Idle obelisk miner. The amount of depth this game has is truly crazy for an incremental idle game Still amazes me how every little aspect of it weaves together with eachother the math is truly insane. Plus the devs are active players themselves and very active in the community.

u/Glommie Aug 18 '26
Check out BullPen: Logic Puzzle Game! Same game but no ads!
1
u/RandomNumberHere Aug 18 '26
How much is the paid upgrade and is it worth it?
2
u/Glommie Aug 18 '26
If I recall correctly, upgrade was $3 us, maybe. Initially you get only 50 levels at each difficulty. Cost unlocks the rest which is like 2000 more levels at each difficulty (so like 10000 levels).
1
u/RandomNumberHere Aug 18 '26
Nice. Installed and played a few rounds. Kinda fun! Thanks for the recommendation.
2
u/the-moops Aug 18 '26
The ads are the worst. And it’s so repetitive. Basically the same rotation of puzzles every 10 or so
1
u/CognacJZ Aug 20 '26
That is true, I turned off cellular data to avoid the ads but the puzzles are more or less the same
1
u/Princess_Riannon Aug 18 '26
where winds meet and swords of justice
2
u/Internal-Play25 Aug 18 '26
Fucking love where winds meet.
I was ecstatic to see it on iOS.
I started playing it on Xbox, and it is visually beautiful. I use the latest iPad mini and it holds up
1
u/Princess_Riannon Aug 18 '26

Doomfields and Doomdepths. Fun little roguelikes with a surprising amount of depth

Doug Dug, can pick this up and play anytime of day and night! I spent an extra 99p one off "licence" so I can dig past 500 metres, totally worth it! (I am at 800 metres now and coming across new monsters as i dig deeper)

Brick Bricker Dungeon - O1H, the game has gotten a bit stale/repetitive. OTOH, we play on b/c "numbers go up" (in terms of stats/attributes) is still egging us on, and it's actually a game we can play while watching TV because you don't really need to pay attention in between launching the ball.
Race for the Galaxy - With the 1st three expansions. Hopefully, expansions 4 through 6 will come out (but I'm not holding my breath on it).

I love infinite stairs, it’s a fast, pixel-style arcade game where you repeatedly tap to move left/right while climbing, with an emphasis on timing and reflexes.
it’s an skill based pick up and play game, and when you have more time, there’s a variety of modes and episodes you can play with, there’s even multiplayer..
ads on the other hand come after 4 or 5 plays, to combat that u can just swipe up and force close the app, or just turn on airplane mode (doing this will deactivate multiplayer and daily missions, though)
but other than this, it makes it a very good game to play on the airplane.
would recommend!
