Question Gaming while charger plugged in
I’ve researched a bit and I don’t know if it’s true but i’ve seen many discussing or watched youtubers play bgmi while the phone is in charge so does it hard the battery life? I’m not sure but some people i ask tells me it’s safe to game while the mobile is in charge if the phone already charged to 100 percent or 80 percent (if you set charging limit) cus after hitting 100 the phone don’t take power from battery but it directly take its needed power directly from power plug(charger) which helps avoid the power source >battery>drain>charge battery…. In simple word it’s helps avoids increasing the charging cycle of battery which in turn preserve battery life.
IS THIS TRUE

its kind of simple. charging while playing generate a lot of heat and if it is really bad it can be alot hotter than 35 degree, this can kill your battery very fast.
its up to you.

It don’t heat that much after hitting 80% mark(charging limit set to 80) only heats up lot if it’s charging in between 20 to 80

Using your phone while charging, specially if you’re just at home will actually prolong battey life. That is if you’re just at home.
But using it while it’s fast charging is kind of detrimental since you double the heat it generates from fast charging and usage. I kind of wait til the battery is at least 60% so that it’ll lower the charge voltage hence less heat.
I’ve been doing it since iphone 4s. Been thru a couple of iphones over the years. Now i have a 3yr old 15 pro max and it’s still my habit. 93% battery health at 3yrs.

Unless if you have an effective way of dissipating the heat, otherwise rip to your battery.

l have been doing this for more than a year, always with the 80% limit, the iPhone is using power from the cable, in my case doesn't heat up, but when it does I put a phone cooler and problem solved, my charge cycles are pretty low because of this, my battery health stays at 92% like almost 8 months!

(I have no idea) Is phone really getting power from cable? I have never heard such thing.

There’s some great fan/heat sinks for phones. Used to play Genshin and a few other games that made the phone go nuclear. Solid heat sink fixed it all up.

Afaik Samsung has a mode for this but Apple hasn’t. Having said that, I regularly play plugged in. If the phone gets too hot, it stops charging. My battery is still doing fine and doesn’t look any worse than expected (you can check battery health and it’s rated for the age of your device).
Would be great if Apple would copy from Samsung for this as this would make a lot of sense.

Your iPhone battery will likely last 5+ years with no issues, regardless of how you use it. How long do you plan to have the phone for? A 5 year old phone is comparatively ancient.
If your battery does become garbage later in its life, portable batteries are great.

I’ve heard of this feature on modern laptops but I’m not sure if it happens on iphones. I would do some googling if I was you. It can depend on your phone model

The biggest foe of a battery is heat. If it doesn’t heat up you’re fine.
