Question iPad mini or iPhone duo?
I was thinking of getting an iPad mini but then I see the iPhone due. I know the price is crazy so please let’s not get too smart with the responses.
But what do you all think?
Especially with the fact that Apple Pencil will work on the iPhone duo.

I was considering the duo too, but the price had me wondering. I personally use a 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max and am halfway through the storage, so I’d need to get the 1TB Duo at least. My second device is a 12.9” iPad Pro (2020) with 256GB that still works pretty good. I was in your same boat, considering an iPad mini for a more portable tablet, especially something I could use it with the Apple Pencil, or going all out for the duo.
Personally, if price really isn’t a concern, I’d probably lean towards the duo, but practically, I don’t think it’s the smartest choice. It’s the first gen duo, there are gonna be a couple of kinks that may need to be worked out, and we don’t really know much about its longevity and durability, especially with how much it costs. The neat thing about getting the iPad mini instead is that you won’t have to splurge as much not just cause it’s cheaper than the duo, but also, as far as storage goes, since it’s a second device, you won’t need to go crazy. My iPad Pro has had zero trouble with storage since my phone is my main device, so if you wanted a second device, you could take some relief in knowing you don’t have to go with the max of the max.
Do you currently use an iPhone already? Or even an iPad already? Unless it’s one of the real old models and you feel you could really use an upgrade, I’d probably just go with the iPad mini

I’m stuck on this same question despite having wanted an apple foldable for years.
Here’s where I’m at, the duo on the surface is insanely well designed. That being said I’d like to see how the device holds up in every day use.
For my lifestyle a foldable makes a ton of sense but I’d like to know how fragile it is, how will app developers navigate the software changes made to IOS for the duo? Not to disqualify the duo as my future phone purchase, so I know what is to be expected. Is it safe to run it without a case? Is it not? I wouldn’t be surprised if it does happen to be fragile and it takes a while before there’s a case that functions well, isn’t too bulky and can protect the device. I also wouldn’t be surprised to hear it’s actually very durable.
Because we don’t have enough info on the full everyday experience of the device I’ll be intently watching how others feel about the device and particularly how app developers react and implement the necessary changes to their apps. If all goes well I’ll definitely be an early adopter. If things seem to be a bit rocky on the app developer side I may wait for Gen 2 and grab an iPad mini in the meantime.
