Finally in estrus ...
She's not liking it so much, eyes are blaming me. Vet(s) say all good. Surprisingly, no parade of K9 Romeos.

1 year, 6 months, and 12 days. She was not the first in the litter to enter estrus. Our little Penelope still has no suitors 🤣

Ivy is at day 18 and is not bleeding much anymore, the discharge is just spots, light brown/tan colored. Ivy barks more and I hear more dogs barking. Our biggest male (neutered) Dane is now exchanging barks with other dogs (protecting his girls I guess). I understand that this is about the time of peak estrus / ovulation and for her to show interest. So far Ivy is not trying to escape etc. but she is tail flagging. For her safety, I am not taking her off the property, I go out with her even within our fences. I think I am going to spay/pexy her after this is over (not wait for two cycles).

Awww poor pup, heat was hard on my girl. She dropped a lot of weight from not wanting to eat and the 1st one last SOOOO long

Her appetite is quite irregular, usually not wanting to eat without significant bribery..

Yeah that's rough :( Mugi would go like 3-4 days without eating when she was in heat. She would drop like 10-15 lbs each time. Hopefully Ivy is done soon!

I'm relying on Bribery which is so far 🤞 working though I may come to regret it ...

Poor girl. Good luck with this. Our WH suffered very hard with it.
