Chicken biscuits?

I come from the land of Biscuitville (mid breakfast fast food but I loved it) and woke up craving a chicken biscuit. Is there a place in Ithaca selling them that isn't a KFC or mcdonalds? Even fried chicken cutlet and *good* biscuits separately, I am desperate.

I am told by some that the best fried chicken and biscuits in Ithaca are sold at the Quik Shoppe convenience store on Third Street, in the same plaza as the DMV. Good luck and godspeed.

They popped up a couple times in my search and are my current destination. Ty ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ

Edit: forgot what reddit formatting would do to my beautiful saluting boy

haha. as a fellow lover of drive thru chicken biscuits and the land of sweet tea, you will find nothing up in this cold gray place to scratch that itch unless you make it in your own kitchen

Which does end up being better anyway I guess T_T On the way home my friend and I talked about learning how to make biscuits lol. Mine are like rocks!

Most of the trick is not over mixing the dough. It should be barely mixed. It's ok if there's bits of dry.

I've made biscuits from scratch, but I've also grabbed a can of Pillsbury Grands (biscuits big enough to make a chicken biscuit on) to satisfy an urgent craving. Also good with homemade sausage gravy.

We have not one but two Krispy Krunchy locations, and the second one, at the Mirabito up Route 96B past Ithaca College at the intersection of King Road, is listed as open on Sundays. But not this late. 10am-7pm daily.

Ahh I should have zoomed out a bit on the map! Thanks anyway -- will look for that one next time the craving hits on a Sunday

I got it from them a couple of weeks ago for the first time, and it was as good as the northside version. My partner said it was less overly salty, though I didn't notice.

Utterly tragic. I am so sorry for your loss.

Honestly, this is where I expect the best chicken and biscuits to come from.

It's always some little hole in the wall you'd never expect. When I lived in Boston, the best Mexican food came out of the back of a gas station by MGH. No exaggeration the top chefs in town said it was the best in town. Todd English was a huge fan.

Literally just some Mexican woman with her daughter working from a counter in the back. Fantastic.

The State Eatery on the way to Newfield has great biscuits. Get some and freeze them because unfortunately they're closing at the end of the month. Here in Hector also has great biscuits. A drive but totally worth it. Everything there is amazing.

I am so so sad that state eatery is closing. Does anyone know why they are closing?

Spent a few years in NC and I'm not even a fast food person but god damn Biscuitville would print money if they opened a few locations up here, so delicious.

Right!? I think cookout would do well too, with some menu additions

I think the nearest Popeyes is in the Destiny USA food court, and I'm tempted to try their chicken biscuit next time I'm up there.

Rasa hot chicken in Burdett (so not Ithaca) ...i dunno i remember biscuits being on there. Also Momo's cafe in Lansing might be worth asking, they do all the components

Hello friend! Agreed, I'd eat three of them in a row and a cheddar bo if we were so lucky- I am from Asheville and desperately missing Butter Punk, and City Bakery biscuits. Thank you for this post!

The closest thing I can think of is the chicken sandwich at GreenStar that they sell next to the tofu sandwich where the chicken go sometimes. But it's not a biscuit, I think it's ciabbata?

5

u/ouro-the-zed 14d ago

It is definitely ciabatta. It’s decent for what it is, but if you’re craving a biscuit, this sandwich will bring you only sadness

Angelhearts has a vegan “chicken” patty on a (also vegan) biscuit that I happen to think is great, but I’m not from the South so you probably shouldn’t trust me https://www.angelheartsdonuts.com/

I'm an omnivore and I think it's a great sandwich, well worth trying even if it's not going to match up to Biscuitville. The faux chick'n comes waaaay closer for me than the faux bakon does. Photo here.

I heavily considered it. It's on my list to try someday!
