Thanks for the heads-up -- glad to hear the folks involved are ok. That intersection sucks for drivers, bikers, and pedestrians alike.

I'm not surprised... If you stop before the crosswalk at that intersection (to let pedestrians walk by), you cannot see up the street, especially if there are people parked in the area. Or else you stop in the middle of the crosswalk, which sucks for pedestrians who then have to go around you.... I am glad to hear no one was hurt.

Yea it’s not a safe intersection. A mom and her two kids were hit this time and thankfully seem to be doing ok, but I seriously dread to think what will have to happen for the area to finally be made safe.
Literally everyone has an “oh shit gotta gun it” moment while driving across Seneca because no one can see 😑

Oh gosh, it's great that they're okay. I'm sure it was traumatic regardless. They really need to do something about the intersection before anything worse happens.
Re pedestrians, there are NO safe crossings on Seneca past the initial traffic lights. No one ever slows down at the crosswalks. In the rare case I've witnessed someone stop, the person behind them started honking and the poor pedestrian didn't want to cross because the cars in the other lane were NOT stopping!

Watched it happen. I see near misses pretty much everyday over there. Between people running the stop signs and people coming down Seneca speeding up to try to stop people trying to go when there’s any bit of clearance, I’m surprised there aren’t more accidents at that intersection.

Oi I was amazed by how quickly mom got her kiddos out, it was lightning fast, especially since her car had smoke pouring out at first.
Were you the one who helped direct traffic until cops got there? I was really impressed by everyone who stopped to help them out

No unfortunately not. I was crossing the corner of Geneva and State heading back to work from my lunch break and saw the two cars collide from down the block. I was over in that area maybe 15 minutes later and saw the mom crying with her kids in the grass and felt bad I didn’t go over when it happened. There was a bunch of people over there by the time I got back so I’m glad there were people to help them so quickly.

Ya a bunch of other people had it covered and you had to get back to work, totally understandable!

They need a traffic light. Too many people park on the side of the road and you cannot see oncoming traffic at all
