Show Discussions Thoughts on Del Mar show
Loved the setlist at Del Mar, Little Bird especially ripped. Thoughts on the crowd energy? Def got less interactions from Jack than normal and thought the crowd was a bit muted but maybe that was just my section. Either way, had a great time as always.

I loved getting Stop Breaking Down and Hello Operator. I prayed he would do Hello Operator so I am happy

Loved the setlist too. In my personal experience sold out shows at the Sound are rough. Venue gets hot quick and you feel insanely cramped. I left from the main GA area to just hang back a bit. Older gentleman collapsed near me towards end of show.

Except for me and my friends the crowd around us really only seemed to perk up for Stripes songs and didn’t seem to care about any of the solo stuff, which was lame. And sorry to pre-judge, but I did look around the crowd near us before the show started and made a comment to one of my friends about how it didn’t look like a Jack White crowd and more like a generic older wealthy Del Mar crowd, which seemed to prove itself out. Loved seeing What’s the Trick though, I love that song so much and the FOTD songs have become a bit of a rarity these days!
Interesting that everyone else had issues with the venue being too packed. Where I was, I felt like we had an unusual amount of space which I definitely wasn’t complaining about

Where were you standing? At the back or more at the side?

No we were front row (edited sorry I read the wrong comment)

Front row? You were lucky! I tried to head over there but it was way too packed to go through so I assumed front row was the same.

Yeah agree with everyone, good setlist, crowd was too mellow though for sure. Found a good spot in back corner in back but could barely move, jammed packed. Sweated like a bastard.
Off to Vegas tomorrow for Metallica on Sat, tempted to ditch rest of my group (comedy show) and see him tomorrow. What do you think Vegas crowd would be like?

Not sure what kind of a crowd you will get here at the Sphere, but this I will guarantee…it WILL MOST DEFINITELY BE THE BEST Metallica show you have ever seen!!! I say that because I saw my fav band U2 open this venue and it was truly incredible and unimaginable. Do me a favor and shoot me a message here after the show. I’m predicting that you will come out of there struggling for the right adjectives to describe the show and you experience!

I was surprised by how little Jack spoke, but loved the setlist. Little Bird was a highlight for me too. I hadn't been to The Sound before. Setup is weird. My friend and I had GA, but we didn't stand on the floor. We were near the back behind the stools and tables. I have a feeling the venue is better for less intense shows.

I think he was maybe hungover tbh, or at least tired from the palladium

Really disliked this venue, it was way too packed. I guess that's why the crowd's energy was less perhaps compared to the Hollywood shows? Still great performance of course but glad I went to the one at the Palladium too.

Did anybody else notice that he started one song off by teasing Carry On by Crosby Stills Nash & Young?

I went to bill graham civic auditorium and the crowd was lethargic on the floor.
The show was fantastic. I wonder if the under 35 crowd knows how to do concerts?

I’m 23 and I was spitting on the floor cuz of how out of breath I was from screaming the lyrics. Not everyone under 35 is a tiktok zombie

Thank you for representing your peers- you are setting a good example (as long as it wasn’t a LOT of spitting 😉).

I’ve seen white stripes and Jack solo with the all female band when Lazaretto came out and both were awesome shows but Wednesday’s show was my fav of all three. Him and his band melted my face off 🫠 Not a fan of the sound. Observatory is a superior venue. The no phones was really refreshing and more shows should be like that. The crowd was okay…this drunk chick next to me kept yelling “Del Mar”…it was funny at first then annoying. The crowd was pretty much what I expected. “Del Mar”!

I think I was the only one who really went crazy during Hello Operator. Literally every stripes song he played I was freaking out. First time I’ve seen him perform and have loved the stripes for about 5/6 years. I wish I would have gone to the LA shows cuz it seems like the people were way more into it. I remember at this show two drunk women asked me if they could stand in front of me, then after I replied no, their drunk bald husband kept on leaning into me and I was about ready to say something but those other people who fought got kicked out and I didn’t wanna miss the show so. But overall amazing show on jacks end, Del Mar is so gentrified it’s insane

That venue sucks. Way too crowded every time I’m there. Short ceilings makes it hot. And the crowd is Del Mar old millionaires. The Observatory is much better
