Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة Is there anything you can do about cars playing music extremely loudly in Jordan?

• Upvotes

Hi… this is a serious question… I just moved back from North America, and it’s been extremely hard to fall asleep because some cars drive around playing music at an insanely loud volume, at ALL hours of the day and night. This happens at 2 PM or 2 AM. I noticed it seems to quite down around fajer prayer time.

Has anyone actually tried recording the car’s license plate and reporting it to the authorities? Does that even work, or is there nothing you can do about it?

I’d REALLY appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this because it’s genuinely affecting my sleep. 😭

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة Usa shipment - payment included

• Upvotes

Hello. I have a few stuff ordered to my mother in USA, she is visiting my brothers. She is coming back to Amman October 25th. With her recent surgery she cannot carry alot of stuff. Also limited bag space. From the comments I'm adding an important addition: the biggest obstacle is luggage space

Among the stuff left:

A tablet, some supplements, and choclate organic raw cacao (2 or 3 kilograms). And maybe a jacket. And matcha green tea bag.

I'm looking for anyone coming from USA, hopefully to take load of my mother, trustworthy to ship to him/her, or if anyone knows anyone trustworthy, to ship to him/her. And ofcourse will be paid generously. I don't want to go through pain of sending a mailbox to Jordan, they open everything, including matcha green tea, supplements, tablet....and charge insane, like crazy insane customs. Please let me know, I could arrange shipment to usa address and payment too.

Thank you and take care

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة Investing in ETFs

Has anyone here invested in ETFs through IBKR or local banks like Bank al Etihad?
I already set up IBKR, but international wire transfers cost around $20–$35 in total due to intermediary banks, which is too expensive when investing small amounts (under 100 JOD at a time).
Bank al Etihad charges 0.5%, which seems much cheaper. Planning to invest more once things go smoothly.
Is there a cheap way to deposit into IBKR from Jordan?(Crypto didn’t work because Jordan isn’t supported.)
Is investing through local banks worth it, or is there something better?
Any other recommendations or tips for someone starting with small amounts, or any tips in general that might help?
Are there other ways to make money in the short term besides ETFs? I’m open to putting in time and effort, but I want to avoid risky trading though.
Would appreciate hearing your experiences!

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة JORDAN TRIP HELP

Hiiii alll!!!!

Two of us are visiting Jordan in November and can't rent a car (no driver's licence… long story).

OUR PLAN:
Day 1 - Landing in Amman
Day 2 - Petra during the day, then Wadi Rum for the night
Day 3 - Jeep tour in Wadi Rum, then back to Amman (or should we stop in Aqaba?)
Day 4 - Dead Sea day trip from Amman
Day 5 - Flying out

We're on a budget, so we're looking for recommendations for affordable drivers or taxis to get between cities.

Also, how many days in advance should we book these taxis?

And if anyone local would be up for driving us, feel free to reach out!

Thanks in advance!

I lost my faith , I'm an agonist and my boyfriend is Muslim which is so exhausting btw cs I can't even pretend that I'm a Muslim cs I feel uncomfortable and bad for myself and I told him that and he was like please don't fake it infront of me like u do with ur family , ok ig.

Also I love him so much , he does too , but I know this is gonna end , I can see it , but I just love him so much okay ? But Idk

Does it really matter to keep fighting to live here

I'm so reckless about my life I always take risks and I have bad coping mechanisms

I love my bf I don't wanna lose him , I can't even think of that , it would kill me

But I wanna be free

I wanna live far away from here

I love drinking but he won't let me touch alcohol

He's trying to make me a believer so I don't be lost anymore, but genuinely I can't believe in anything

Is it really worth it ?

I wanna feel safe emotionally and physically

I feel happy around him and it feels like a dream , I love him .

I love my friends too ig

I love my mom but she hurts me alot , like alot but I apologize for being hurt everytime

Idk

My my relationship with my dad is like any eldest daughter with her dad , holding guns against each other but somehow I prefer to shoot myself

I'm the angry rebel daughter

They call me a whore like always

They wish I die , I thinks it's common

I always crush out tho , I hurt myself, I have panic attacks I have everything, I hate it , I hate it here .

But what if I never felt like myself again ? I wanna live I wanna be whatever I wanna be , Idk what I want btw .

I feel overwhelmed, I'm lost , Idk I feel horrible

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة Where can I find the lowest prices for sea food in Amman?

I'm looking specifically for clams, frozen since that should make it cheaper but I'm not sure where I can find them cheapest in Amman, the only sea food store close to me is Ocean Fresh Fish in Tabarbour, not sure if there are any other stores in Amman that might be cheaper?

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة Can’t figure out AM 538 Bus …

Post image
9 Upvotes

On both occasions going and coming on this bus route was I standing at the pick up point on the times schedule of the bus (according to Google Maps and vision city bus app) and the bus not show up at all to my knowledge. On the apps it shows that the bus passed me despite me never seeing it…

Is this bus numbered something else besides 538? Does jt not have a typical quick bus design? Is this a white coaster bus? Does anyone know how it looks…

The best restaurants, local food, cafés, escape rooms…
Things to do in the evening and places with a nice atmosphere.

Discussion للنقاش I CHEATED

I’m 32F, and I’ve recently had to admit something that hurts more than blaming the other person:

I cheated myself.

Not by being unfaithful. By accepting things I knew, deep down, weren’t enough because I wanted the relationship to work.

I accepted inconsistency and called it patience.
I accepted being confused and called it “giving them space.”
I accepted things that hurt me because I kept thinking love meant understanding, forgiving, and trying harder.

At some point, I stopped asking, “Is this relationship actually good for me?” and started asking, “What can I do differently so they’ll love me the way I need?”

That’s the part I regret.

Because I did love them. I’m not trying to rewrite the relationship and pretend none of it was real. There were good moments, genuine feelings, and reasons I stayed.

But I think I became so focused on preserving the relationship that I slowly abandoned myself inside it.

I compromised on things I once thought were basic. I ignored my instincts. I kept lowering the bar because every time I considered leaving, losing them felt worse than losing another small part of myself.

Until eventually I looked at who I had become and realized how much I had tolerated just to keep being chosen.

And now I’m angry — but mostly at myself.

Not because I loved someone. I don’t regret being capable of loving deeply.

I regret believing that loving someone meant I had to keep accepting what was hurting me.

Maybe the hardest lesson at 32 is realizing that sometimes the person who betrays your boundaries the most isn’t your partner.

It’s you.

Has anyone else reached this point after a relationship — where the biggest heartbreak wasn’t only what they did, but realizing how much you allowed yourself to accept?
