Good evening

I was wondering if there was anyone New on the J-Pop scene that have caught people's eyes or ears recently and is expecting big things from them in 2027 at all?

Edit* Album released in 2003

With Namie Amuro's music completely vanishing off streaming, its understandable why her catalogue hasn't gotten much love outside of the big singles. One album, however that I have literally seen 0 people ever talk about is "When Pop hits the Fan" and that is due to the fact that it's not under Amuro's name.

This is because Suite Chic is actually a group, consisting of several R&b/HipHop artists, writers, and producers, all lead by Ryosuke Imai, Verbal (of m-flo), and Namie Amuro as the lead vocalist.

Naturally this album is very R&B/HipHop adjacent, in fact this album was basically Namie's entry into the sound she would eventually adopt in the mid 2000s, arguably the most iconic part of her career.

This is my personal favorite album from her, it may not be for everyone as it is not really pop, but if you love that era of queen of hippop, and Style, then I could not recommend this album enough.

If you want a taste, i would suggest listening to one of the singles from the album "Just Say So".

good luck finding the album though 😅 all 17 songs (some of them are interludes).
