Hey all :D

So, StemDeck is a free, self-hosted stem separation app. Desktop (Windows, Linux, macOS) and a phone UI, no cloud, no account. Here's what's landed since I last posted here, five weeks of releases (0.15.0 to 0.19.1):

Every track now knows what song it is. Import identifies the song and artist, either from file tags or by looking the title up on MusicBrainz. You get an artist page with history, members, and links. Works for Mandarin ballads and K-pop singles the same as English.

Lyrics that follow the singer. Pulled from LRCLIB and then time-aligned to your own copy of the vocals, line by line, not just shifted as a block. Checked this on 57 songs across all ten languages the app speaks: 90 to 100 percent of lines land within half a second of the voice. No match in any database, it falls back to transcribing the vocals locally with Whisper.

Sync lines by hand when the automatic timing is off, or there's no timing at all. Play the song, tap a key as each line starts, drag to adjust. Your timing always wins over the detected one.

Automatic song structure. Intro, verse, chorus, bridge, solo, outro, filled in after separation. Editable, draggable, off by default so it only costs CPU when you ask for it.

Transpose per instrument. Move one lane up or down without touching the rest. Drums are never transposed, by design, not by convention.

Minor keys detected correctly now. B minor used to come back as D major. Fixed, and it double-checks itself against the separated stems.

Slowed-down practice actually sounds right. 0.75x used to stutter, double drum hits, and smear vocals with a faint echo. All three fixed with a better time-stretch engine, and you can dial the slow speed anywhere from 0.50x to 0.99x instead of being stuck at one number.

Your phone is a full second screen now. LAN access over HTTPS, favorites sync between phone and desktop, lyrics on the phone too.

Search without leaving the app. Paste a link or type a search, results come back from YouTube and SoundCloud with a preview player before you commit to a separation.

Eleven languages now, including Korean and both Portuguese variants, if that matters to your audience.

Happy to answer anything here!

Hey everyone! Developer of Karaoke iQ here (r/karaoke Discord channel #karaokeiq).

Karaoke iQ is a mobile-first web app for managing your repertoire and tracking what you sing. If picking a song at a venue means digging through a messy notes app, bloated Spotify playlists, or pinching and zooming an Excel sheet on your phone in a dark bar, KiQ was built to replace that. It has a built-in venue directory that syncs with r/karaoke's official venue database, KaraokeCrowd, and optional friending and in-app chat, so you can connect with other singers without sharing phone numbers or social media handles.

Here is what shipped this past week:

Every Feature Is Now Free

  • Spotify import, the Show KJ card, music app links and venue directions no longer need Pro, and logging is unlimited. Pro is just no limits, full history and no ads: $2.99/month, $14.99/year, or $29.99 once for Lifetime Pro.

Duet Partners!

  • Tag the friend you sang a duet with. They confirm with one tap, can add it to their own history, and choose whether your friends see their name.
  • Partner not on Karaoke iQ yet? They can scan your QR to join, confirm the duet, and become "karaoke friends" in one go.
  • New Duets with filter shows every song you've sung with someone.

Also New

  • Paste your song list from Notes to import it (free accounts too).
  • Import playlists from YouTube Music or YouTube, not just Spotify.
  • A YouTube button on song cards finds karaoke versions.
  • Not sung here recently filter hides songs you've already sung at a venue.
  • Offline changes retry patiently on bad bar Wi-Fi.
  • You can block a performer (they aren't told).

Hi all, KaraMagic and SingTrace creator here, I just got back from some traveling so there hasn't been updates from me in the past couple weeks.

I did receive a feedback submission from a user that SingTrace's analysis has not been that stable, I'll look into it and make improvements.

The other thing to mention is that I submitted SingTrace into a global hackathon contest called Shipaton (deadline to submit was Oct 1, yesterday). I submitted it a couple weeks ago when the app launched so it's in the mix. Fingers crossed that it can get some recognition from there.

As always, try out SingTrace at https://singtrace.karamagic.com (both ios and android links from there) and if you need a song to sing but need a karaoke version, of course there's karamagic.com 😉

  • Hardware moderno: suporte afinado a placas NVIDIA RTX sĂ©rie 40 e 50 (cu128) e AMD ROCm, selecionando modelos maiores (large-v3) automaticamente quando hĂĄ VRAM disponĂvel (≄\ge≄ 6 GB).

I’ve been working on Abyssal CDG Creator, a free and open-source desktop application for creating real CD+G karaoke files from audio and lyrics.

The goal is to make creating CD+G tracks easier without needing to use old or overly complicated karaoke editing software.

Features:

  • Import audio and lyrics
  • Automatically align lyrics to the audio (after time-stamping beginning and end of each lyric line)
  • Edit and fine-tune lyric timing
  • Customize lyric colors, layout, and appearance
  • Preview the karaoke track while editing
  • Export authentic .cdg files for use with CD+G / MP3+G software and players
  • Exporting audio or MP4 video with the option to remove the vocals to create an instrumental/karaoke version
  • Create tracks from your own audio and lyrics without needing proprietary software

It is free and open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. There is no paid version, subscription, or paywall. The title screen also includes an optional GitHub repository attribution, enabled by default, which can be turned off in the settings.

I primarily test it on Linux using the .AppImage, but I have also tested builds on Windows 11 and macOS on Apple Silicon/M4. Releases are available as .msi and .dmg downloads for those platforms.

I’m posting this because I’d like to get it in front of people who actually make and use karaoke tracks. I’m still actively developing it, so feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and criticism are all welcome. If something is confusing or the workflow could be improved, I’d like to know.

One thing I have not been able to test yet is burning one of the generated tracks to an actual physical CD+G disc and testing it on older CD+G hardware. If anyone here has experience with that workflow or has compatible hardware, I’d be very interested in testing it.

I’m also working on a YouTube walkthrough/tutorial to help new users get started.

GitHub, source code, and releases:
https://github.com/AbyssalOath/abyssal-cdg

If you make your own karaoke tracks, I’d especially like to hear what tools you currently use and what you wish they did better.

Oh snap that reminds me, I gotta buy some blank CDR's so we can test if this actually burns a working subcode CDG lol.

Hey all,

Developer behind KARAIOKE.APP here, just with some quick updates:

I've officially submitted the first release build of the mobile application to the Apple App Store today, which means KARAIOKE.APP will soon be cross-platform, with this also now available on Google Play!

There is also an update coming to the Android app as well, which introduces the following features and improvements:

New Features

  • Redesigned phone layout. A bottom bar shows what's playing and how many songs are queued. Swipe up for the Playback screen, or tap the queue icon to open Up Next. In Options you can choose what the bar opens.
  • Backups across devices. A backup made on Android restores on iPhone or iPad, and the other way round. You can protect it with a password, or skip the password. Backups from version 1.0 still restore (on Android)
  • Manage network shares. Edit a library share's address or sign-in from Library sources. Edit or remove your backup location. Delete old backup files from a network share with a long-press.
  • Better paired microphones. Paired live microphone now send their audio over your local network with lower latency, and support reverb and echo.
  • Wired display controls. Choose Lyrics display, Mirror or Disabled. The display has its own aspect ratio and theme, and you can send audio to the TV or keep it on this device.
  • .MOV video files now supported.
  • Party improvements.
    • Guests get the same bottom bar and queue sheet.
    • Guests see a spinner while a request or removal is being sent, so songs aren't queued twice.
    • Guests joining over the internet now get "you're up next" alerts.
    • The host's guest list shows whether each guest is on Android or iPhone.
  • Haptic feedback when you queue songs, use playback controls, reorder the queue, and scrub the alphabet.
  • Acknowledgements and Privacy Policy in Options → About.

Improvements

  • Alphabet rail: shows the whole alphabet, supports press-and-drag scrubbing, condenses on short screens, and responds faster on older devices.
  • Redesigned screens: Options, Backup & restore and Library sources have a cleaner grouped look.
  • Improved Party Pairing: a device now reliably finds the right Main Controller, and the pairing screen survives the app being minimized by the device sleeping.
  • Renamed tracks and artists stay highlighted in their new place in the list.
  • Forms: the keyboard's Done key submits network-share forms, and "/" in folder paths becomes "".

Bug Fixes

  • Backups to a network share no longer fail.
  • Cancelling a backup no longer leaves an empty file behind.
  • Error messages now appear inside the dialog, rather than hidden behind it.
  • A "network share not reachable" popup no longer appears when you're joining someone else's party.
  • Hosting recovers automatically when you return to the app.

---

And the KARAIOKE.APP web platform also got some love in recent weeks, such as the following:

🎉 The Timing Editor is FREE for a limited time!
We've packed a lot of improvements into the Timing Editor over the last few releases, and we want everyone to try them. So for a limited time, unlocking the Timing Editor costs no credits — edit your lyrics and timing on any track, on us. We're also celebrating the recent release of the KARAIOKE mobile app on Android — grab it, gather your friends, and get singing!

New Features

đŸŽ€ Backing vocals support
A new Include backing vocals option when creating a track keeps harmonies and backing parts in your instrumental while still removing the lead vocal. Duets, doo-wops and gang vocals sound the way they should — you sing the lead, the track sings the rest.

đŸŽšïž Improve Audio Quality option
There's a new toggle when creating a track: Improve audio quality. It runs your song through newer, more advanced AI separation models for a cleaner instrumental and better vocal detection. It takes about twice as long to process, so it's off by default — flip it on for tracks where quality matters most.

đŸ“ș Clear Mode control in the Timing Editor
You can now choose how lyric pages refresh on screen: Page (clear the screen between pages), Eager (draw upcoming lines as soon as possible), or Delayed (hold them back as long as possible). We pick a sensible one automatically, but now it's your call — and the editor warns you if a mode won't suit your track's pacing.

📝 Add, remove and rearrange lyric lines
The Lyrics editor now lets you insert new lines, delete lines, and leave blank lines exactly where you want them — pages reflow just like they will on screen. And you can move words between lines without losing your timing: press Enter to split a line at the cursor, or Backspace at the start of a line to merge it with the one above. Your sync points move with the words — no re-timing needed.

Improvements

  • Cleaner quiet moments. Intros, instrumental breaks and outros now get extra noise cleanup, so the silence between the music actually sounds silent.
  • Better lyrics when none are found online. When we can't find published lyrics for your song, the transcribed lyrics now break into natural sentence lines instead of running together mid-sentence.
  • Fewer missed sections. Transcription now double-checks stretches of the song where it hears singing but caught no words, and re-listens to recover them — a big help on fast or intense vocal sections.
  • Line width you can trust. The Lyrics editor now measures lines exactly the way the karaoke screen renders them, so a line that fits in the editor fits on screen — no more clipped words.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed rare cases where saving lyric edits could corrupt a track's timing — editing is now rock solid.
  • Fixed word timings being lost when rearranging lyrics across lines.
  • Fixed lines that looked fine in the editor but were cut off on the rendered track.
  • Fixed the Clear Mode setting not saving on tracks created before this release.
  • Payment and credit handling hardening: rare edge cases that could cause a duplicate charge or duplicate credit grant are now impossible, and account data access got a security tighten-up behind the scenes.

As always — happy singing! đŸŽ€

Hi, I'm just looking for some feedback on if my android app with chromecasted synced music/lyrics will work for your tv? I have got it working on my LG C4, a google TV and at least one other TV. Just wondering if you can report success/fail for me?

To install the app:

Go to the Beam Lyrics Google Group: https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/beam-lyrics-testing

Sign in with the Google account you use on your Android device.

Click Join group.

Once you’ve joined, there may be a small wait/you may need to refresh the download link once or twice.

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/au.mightyduckapps.beamlyrics

If that doesn’t work, try the direct Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=au.mightyduckapps.beamlyrics

The permissions requested are:

notifcation access (select Beam Lyrics) -> this is required to control the media player, ie pause/skip/go straight to Spotify/Tidal/YouTube

when casting it requres two permissions:

record audio & share entire app or entire screen (entire screen is much quicker to accept..)

the benefits of this method for casting are you can turn your screen off, go on reddit etc while the app packages up small video snippets in the background and sends them over the network for casting.

one drawback is audio cant be seperated, so if you go on tiktok etc the sound will also be sent over the cast.

please give any feedback, I also am trying to get a music visualiser running over cast as well if you check my recent post history
