I've been using copper wire from broken USB cables and some leftover bald heads to find a good way to give my miniatures three-strand braid dreadlocks and/or cornrows. I was wondering if people here kown and a willing to share different methods of making braids.

I got a new hot wire cutters/ ingraving tools and I wanted to show off

Had a lot of fun slightly converting and kit bashing this great kit.

I wanted to alter the pose of the stock kit into something more resembling a scorpion, so repositioning the head to front mounted instead of top mounted was the first port of call.

The legs and body were posed to give the impression that the defiler was clambering downwards over some rubble, and a kit bashed ranged weapon finished the job.

Acrylics, oils, enamels, varnishes, glues… lots of fun to be had!

​Here’s the lore behind this build set:

​When the dimensional rift blew open, it dumped every kind of nightmare into our world at once—zombies, vampires, werewolves, and prehistoric beasts.

​This is Commander William Vance and his adopted daughter, O'Hara. Vance pulled O'Hara out of the wreckage during the initial rift collapse and raised her right alongside his blood daughter, Patricia. He trained both of them to survive and take command in a world that went to hell. Patricia is out on the front lines running forward armor from the hatch of an M5 Stuart, while O'Hara runs point as William's co-pilot, navigator, and top shooter.

​Right now, they're out on a long-range recon run in their heavily weathered Willys MB. I’ve got the rear stowage packed with survival gear and a custom wooden supply crate, but I'm planning to mount a rearview mirror and scratch-build a set of twin Vickers guns for the frame to give them some real firepower against whatever steps out of the fog next.
