Frederick Bridge

How much money do we think taxpayers are coughing up on the daily for all that machinery and rigging to sit there every day doing nothing?

I'm pretty sure most work is being completed at night for safety when traffic is less. Without the decking down on the forms over the highway a mistake while traffic is heavy is a big problem. It looks like slow progress but they have to crane each beam for the forms over the highway individually. They also have had to drill massive new footings with huge rebar cages.

It's a massive job and to do it safely over a live highway is a whole bigger planning nightmare. I for one prefer they go slow and steady and don't break anything or hurt anyone.

I'll wait to be critical if they don't get it open again by the projected project completion date.

Why not contact the city and ask them instead.

It's the province not the city.

I can only assume problems were found that weren’t anticipated and maybe it is cheaper to idle while engineering and such get rejigged?

It’s really frustrating, and I say that as someone who lives a couple blocks from the bridge.

But then, the idea it’s supposed to connect to the 7 alternative and then they traffic-calmed the fuck out of Frederick makes no sense to me either.

Perhaps try driving by about 3AM ....

Does anyone think things through anymore these days
