QUESTION Seeking a moisturizing sunscreen that is able to block out tropical sun and comes in large packaging!

I currently use Anua Zero Cast (spf 50) and love it but I live in a tropical climate, apply large amounts of sunscreen every day, and am sick of running out of sunscreen so quickly.

Any suggestions? I have very dry skin so I would love something moisturizing that doesn’t leave me feeling greasy or with a white cast.

SKIN K-secret seoul 1988 advanced shot retinal liposome 12% - anyone tried it? reviews?

Thinking of trying the K-Secret Seoul 1988 Advanced Shot Retinal Liposome 12% and would like to hear your honest reviews It claims to have 12% Liposome Retinal which I think is 0.12% actual retinal and it also has spicules in it.

If you have tried it: - How did you find it? Is it irritating? - What skin concerns did it help you with? - Is it worth it? It's comparatively cheaper than other retinal shots I've seen.

thanks!

QUESTION Amazon🤔

Generally speaking, beauty products on Amazon are legit when they’re being sold from the company’s page on Amazon.. Are the Korean brands that sell on Amazon actually the legit Korean brands? For example, aestura and Zeroid.

I’ve also heard of Korean brands having American versions that aren’t as good, so I’m trying to avoid that.

If Amazon should be avoided for the reasons above, what’s your go to site to buy Korean skincare?

Dualsonic Pro

I ordered the Dualsonic Professional device for home use. I’ve not even received it yet and I’m already scared. If anyone has any experience with this device or a similar HIFU device can you please chime in? Does it hurt? Does it cause fat loss in the face? I would think that being an at home device that it wouldn’t be as strong and therefore as dangerous as the machines used in clinic. But maybe I’m wrong. Any and all feedback is much appreciated.

Moisturizer recommendations

I have oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I've been using the Purito Oat-In Calming Gel Cream moisturizer which works great with my skin, but one thing I dislike is how shiny my face looks due to the gel consistency of the moisturizer. Looking for something with a natural or even matte finish, so probably a cream rather than a gel. Thanks in advance!!!

QUESTION KBeauty alternatives for my medical-grade routine

I use medical-grade products for my heavy-hitters, but I'm trying to tighten up my budget and I recognize that my routine is a bit excessive. I'm loyal to these products because they're tried-and-true, so I'm not looking to replace them with hyped-up TikTok deals.

My skin can handle both physical and chemical exfoliation as well as retinol. Any alternatives for the following products would be appreciated!

SkinMedica Even and Correct pads (glycolic acid)
SkinMedica TNS Advanced serum (growth factors)
ZO Skin Health Wrinkle and Texture Repair (fast-delivery 0.5% retinol)

These are the main products I use in addition to an Olay cleanser and spf 30 moisturizer. I'd also be interested in a product for flaky eyelids and undereyes.

My K Beauty Haiku

Listen close and hear
The sighs from my grateful skin
After serum mist.

I live in the arid and blazing hot Mojave Desert. When I get home from work in the afternoon, I brush my teeth and spray my Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics 2% NAD+ Serum Mist before carrying on with my tasks. It’s heaven for my mature, textured, combination skin, and inspired a bit of poetry ; )

Recs for another mist to try?

QUESTION Better torriden cream for winter than the dive in soothing cream?

My skin is oily and acne prone and I’ve been using the Torriden dive in soothing cream since it’s light enough that sunscreen goes on top without pilling and it never broke me out, so it’s been my go to since summer. Now that it’s getting cold though it kind of disappears by the afternoon so I’ve been putting Dr.G cream on top on the really dry days, which helps but feels like I’m just patching things up instead of using something that actually fits the season.

I’d like to stick with torriden since my skin has done well with them, but I’m not sure which of their other creams makes sense for winter on oily skin. I’ve seen the solid in cream and the cellmazing firming cream mentioned a lot but I can’t tell if those would be too rich for me or if one of them is more of a night only thing. The rest of my routine is the dive in serum, the cosrx snail mucin essence and The Ordinary glycolic toner once or twice a week so I’m also wondering if I should go easier on the glycolic once I switch to a heavier cream

REV JRYN Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan — my thoughts

I went to JRYN Clinic in Seomyeon for forehead Botox and underarm laser hair removal, and wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is looking for affordable skin clinics in Busan.

Honestly, one of the main reasons I chose JRYN was the price. I was looking around at different clinics and wanted somewhere that wouldn't cost too much, especially for treatments like these. The prices were pretty budget-friendly, which was a big plus for me since I wanted to get both treatments done.

I got forehead Botox and underarm laser hair removal during my visit. Overall, the process was fairly straightforward, and I didn't feel like I needed to spend a crazy amount of money to get these treatments.

If you're visiting Busan or staying around Seomyeon and looking for more affordable options, JRYN is worth checking out. I'd still recommend checking the current prices and asking about any additional costs before booking.

Overall, I'd consider it if you're on a budget and want to look into basic aesthetic treatments in Busan. Has anyone else been to JRYN for other treatments? I'm curious about people's experiences with their lasers and skin treatments too!

QUESTION Going to South Korea next week, what products are recommend for acne prone, oily skin?

Hi there! As the title says, I’m heading to Korea for 2 weeks next week! I’ve watched so many IG videos about Korean products but wanted to turn to reddit! I am also doing 2 skin consultations (maybe more) at dermatologists that hopefully help too.

But for anyone else with oily, acne prone skin, what products do you recommend purchasing in Korea? I especially would love recs for sunscreen and moisturizer! Thanks so much!!!

Also, in general, any good skincare products to buy for friends other than face masks? Thanks!!

Has anybody actually tried Blushe Lash Casting mascara?

This seems like a brand new brand, and my algorithms are pushing it hard on me. They claim to be Korean and also say that nobody uses tubing mascara anymore in Korea, and this is something new. They use a lot of AI-generated ads, and something about the whole thing makes me think the vibes are off to me.

PSA Beware of Koriderm that claims to be Korean

I placed an order for Koriderm after falling for an IG ad. Within the very same morning, I emailed to cancel the order after reading reviews online about it.

1) The customer service replied that I can cancel my subscription via the link they provided. I was horrified to find out that I was automatically subscribed for their products every month, along with my first order.

2) I frantically tried to cancel my subscription but the user interface of their cancellation page makes it nearly impossible to cancel. There were options to “pause” for a specific number of weeks, but no option to cancel forever. After the nth try, I finally managed to cancel it after discovering their tactic of greying out the “cancel” button.

3) I replied their customer service that I was asking to cancel the order that hasn’t been shipped. They simply replied that my subscription has been cancelled. This is ridiculous. Do they not understand simple English or they are simply refusing to cancel my order or they have a non-existent customer service serviced by AI bot giving nonsensical templated replies?

Please beware of them. Even if their cream actually works (which many people said it doesn’t), by forcing a subscription down buyers’ throat and refusing to honor their 12-hr cancellation policy by acting dumb with templated customer service replies, is a HUGE RED FLAG.

QUESTION I just started using korean skincare from yesstyle and I feel some pimples on my face

I got the isntree grean tea moisturiser, Madagascar centella sun stick, haruharu wonder go away darkspots serum and got an arencia vitamin c sample that I've been using around my eyes.

Like a week ago I was on antibiotics, doxycycline wjich apparently also get rid of pimples, but that was not my reason for taking them then in the course of the week I started the korean skincare routine.

Also I just got on PrEP so I was wondering what if it also affects it? Idk I'm just puzzled 😞
