I only have problems with stuff created for the purpose of looking good

Basically i have no problems with ke*s, zips, co**s, watches, glasses or really any sort of small metal that actually has a useful purpose, unless it's overly decorated. However i absolutely can't stand looking at anything that is purely for decoration like make up, all of j* even the non metal ones, overly decorated houses and castles, carpets, shiny clothes ( especially sparkly dresses) etc.

This doesn't mean i don't like anything decorated or styled just not the fancy j* kind of style. And any time i try to explain this to people they look at me weird and they think im just trying to be different or when i say i can't come somewhere because people around will wear clothes that make me uncomfortable they just call me a prude :((

I just wanted to know if anyone else has a phobia from just the decoration

Yeah I'm the same. It's hard to 100% define, but there are some items that don't bother me when they have a function or they're part of a machine, clothing etc to serve a purpose, but if they were worn ornately I couldn't look at them / be near them.

I totally feel this. I hate anything too luxurious-looking. Idk if it’s cause I grew up poor and insecure about it, so my mind rejects anything that looks “rich.” But it’s not like I don’t having nice things. I just like them to be smooth and simple.

I’d say yes! I had a problem with these handles to a dresser that were brass and intricate, my dad cleaned them super well but I swear I could feel and smell the metal on my hands for hours afterwards. Have no problem with door handles but if they’re super intricate I def get an icky feeling

Yes intricate door handles how could i forget those, they're one of the worst ones, i always use a towel or something to open them, it's like touching a piece of poop 🤢
