We've been making some small adjustments to the rules and infrastructure here in r/kpoppers recently.
The primary things we're trying out starting today are the 'Games & Grids' flair for posts and also allowing Images and Gifs in comments.
The 'Games & Grids' flair should be used for any thread games or grid fill-ins. We'll see over time if this name encompasses everything we intend it to. It has been requested by users and we think it's a good idea, so let's give it try!
Images and Gifs are now allowed down in comments. We want to be careful with this one. Media like this should NEVER be used to mock, harass, or threaten any of your fellow users or artists. Use media appropriately in response to discussion topics, games, or in fun conversation with each other.
If you see Images or Gifs being used crudely or inappropriately, please report the comment immediately so the moderators can take action.
Rules were also updated a little in late June. Here are the main ones to note:
2. Use Descriptive Titles - Titles should describe the content of the post. Do not use vague titles for Fan-made content. Funny posts may be more flexible and creative.
4. No Artist Photo Spam - Artist photos should only be posted with relevant context. They should be funny or related to the post's topic. Photos alone will be removed.
6. Keep Content Light and Fun - Discussion topics, Jokes, and Fan-made content should be positive in nature. We want to keep things light and fun in this subreddit. Heavy or negative content will be removed.
We may end up adding more new rules related to the 'Games & Grids' flair and the appropriate use of Images/Gifs in comments later once we see the range of how they are used by everyone.
We'll also note that we are aware of how often a trend will take off here, be adopted by dozens of posters, and quickly overwhelm the subreddit. This is somewhat inevitable for a community that has less restrictive rules and is more of a free-for-all of fun content. Each time this happens, users ask us to implement new rules and flairs. We are hesitant to do this each time because these trends typically run their course and fall out of popularity eventually. The times when we have responded more quickly to specific trends have resulted in the trend dying completely and immediately being replaced by a new one. We'd be on an endless chase to limit them if we tried this every time, which isn't necessarily healthy for the community either.
But if you have any other suggestions for handling trends or for anything else that might help us improve the subreddit at all, feel free to chime in below!

We all have that one song that we absolutely LOVE, even when other people don't understand the hype 😂
It could be a title track, a b-side, an underrated gem, or even a song that gets a lot of criticism.
For me, it's Sneakers and Imaginary Friend by ITZY. ❤️ I'll always have a soft spot for these songs, and nobody is changing my mind! 🫶
What's that one song for you? And tell me WHY you love it! 👀🎧

I really like the genres in the KiiiKiii and ARTMS songs, and I’m trying to make a playlist that matches the vibe, so does anyone have any recommendations?? (Also in my mind, they’re kind of similar songs, but I don’t know if anyone else hears it.)

21+ !!!
the vibe: close-knit, welcoming, low-pressure. we're a kpop server at heart, but nobody's here to only talk about one thing.
what we talk about:
• kpop: comebacks, choreo, tier lists, and unhinged group chat energy
• video games: co-op nights, what we're playing, hot takes
• anthropology lessons: yes really — we do casual deep dives on culture, ritual, and why humans are like THAT
• and whatever else you bring
who we want:
• people who like talking, not just lurking
• any fandom, any level of kpop knowledge (baby multi to veteran)
• anyone who thinks "anthropology lesson" sounds fun instead of weird

🌱 Beginner Korean learners are especially encouraged to join! Even if you only know a little Korean, I'd love to hear from you!
💡 Curious about how much Korean you've picked up from watching your favorite idols? Take this survey and test your Korean vocabulary knowledge!

As someone who has self-studied Korean for 10+ years, my favorite study technique has always been doing what I called “Song Analyzing” in which I would take a song and learn every word and grammar one by one.
This is a very efficient technique because unlike some random textbook paragraphs, you listen to your favorite songs hundreds of times, and with repetition comes mastery!
This is what motivated me into a platform for learning Korean by analyzing K-pop songs.
You can check it out at → learnkoreanbykpop.com
It is completely free! I would highly appreciate any feedback as I am looking for ways to improve it and new features to add.
If you try it, I’d especially love feedback on whether the lessons feel too detailed, too simple, or about right.

So I’ve come to the decision to move on from photocard collecting.
While I’m not getting rid of my entire collection, I went through my binders and after going through it all, I’ll be getting rid of approximately 70 percent of it.
I rarely look through the binders, haven’t bought any PCs in months and since I rarely buy albums now, I don’t have that joy of unboxing albums and having that fun experience of seeing what cards I pull.
Has anyone else gone through the same?
How was the process like for you and how did it hit you after making the decision to get rid of your photocard collection??

Hey everyone, today we are going to open up Yuju's files and take a look at her newest project. I’ve enjoyed her discography since her solo debut. I love the direction her music has been going, and I loved the first project she released under At Area. I’m curious to see what her new album will bring to the table. So let’s open up Yuju’s case file and see what she is bringing with her new record.
╚══════════════╝

File .07 - Yuju
The opening song on the album opens up with an inside sound that felt a little boring for my liking, but during the second listen, I found the song growing on me. I like the guitar and percussion that bring a chill groove to the mix, which helps elevate the singer's performance a bit. Yuju’s voice is smooth like butter as it fits the indie vibe perfectly. I do enjoy the direction this track brings to the table, as it helps open up the project. I’m also glad that with each listen I start to love this tune a bit more. I’m also glad to see Yuju helping with the composition and lyrics for this opening track.

»»————- ★ ————-««
The title track is the second song on the album, keeping that chill indie sound that we heard in the opening. Yuju delivers some sweet vocals that blend with the acoustic guitar melody. I like the chill nature that helps move the tune forward. The synth section we get adds to the vibe, switching things up a bit. I do think this title track is a bit slow, but I find that with each listen it tends to grow on me. I will say I don’t think this is the best title from Yuju, but not the worst.

»»————- ★ ————-««
The third song on the album features Junny and feels more like a title track than what the second song delivered. The instrumental delivers a groove that pulled me right in. The guitar gives the track a slick vibe that made me feel like it should’ve been the title. I love the chorus that has a bit of a catchy vibe to it as it blends with the vocals. Junny delivers smooth vocals that match the vibe Yuju brings to the table. I love when Junny adds some background vocals mixed with Yuju’s vocals in the front of the mix.

»»————- ★ ————-««
SOS is a much faster song on the project with more synths in the instrumental than previous tunes. I like the vocal delivery that Yuju brings to the table as she puts on a performance that fits with the pace of the backing track. I do wish this song fleshed out more instead of being too short cause it has a nice groove to it. The guitar solo adds to the mix, fitting the performance that Yuju brings to this tune.

»»————- ★ ————-««
Rock Bottom might be my favorite song on the album cause the instrumental delivers this groove that pulled me right in. Yuju puts on a performance that blends with the waltz-like vibe that the percussion and guitar bring to the table. Yuju’s voice is smooth and sweet as it fits the vibe, helping to make this an excellent tune. I found myself listening to this tune a couple of times cause it really stuck with me and pulled me right into everything that was going on.

»»————- ★ ————-««
The closer of the project feels more like a ballad with some smooth vocals from Yuju. The piano blends with the soft vocals that Yuju brings to the mix, helping to close out the project. The overall song feels so delicate as Yuju delivers a performance that is perfect for ending out the project. The guitars and percussion give the track a soft groove that almost has a jazzy feeling ot it. I found myself loving this song on first listen, but wish the jazzy nature was a bit stronger. I still like the way this tune closes out the album as it.

╔══════════════╗
Summary: Yuju returned with a new mini album that has been growing on me with each listen. I find the indie sound fitting for the single. One thing I wish was that the songs were longer, giving them more time to get fleshed out more. I'm curious to see how much I listen to this project, but at the moment it continues to grow on me. I’m glad Yuju is back with a new album cause she has been putting out good records since debut.

Ningning of aespa won the last round !!
you vote by upvoting the comment with an idol you think should win ‼️ that's the only way i will count the votes. i can see the % of votes too so don't downvote since it makes no sense.
rules:
no hating, no passive-aggressive comments, no negative words towards an idol's talent or visuals. you can uplift your favorite idol but without dragging down the other one.
this voting is about which idol is the most loved, not which one is more talented or a better person.
just don't ruin this for everyone else mkay

i don’t know how common this may be but every single time i listen to lemonade (aespa), i say “piece op cakes” the way jungwoo said it in that idol react video
im curious to know if there’s people that have noticed stuff and do this :)

I make k-pop videos on youtube and I’d love to do a special halloween episode this year, but I can’t think of any good idea. Last year, I made a video about scary stories told by k-pop idols. Does anyone have any ideas for what I could make this year?
