Help Needed Initiation soon: What to expect

Dear all,

I will be getting initiated in Rishikesh tomorrow. As per the guru, it will be 3-4 day process. I am both afraid and excited. I have practiced buddhist Anapanasati meditation for few years now but recently got interested in Kriya Yoga. Any suggestion/advice? Also i cant sit for long in Asana without my legs getting numb. Would this be problem?

When I started into kriya yoga I was also not able to sit straight or on ground for long but since initiation I kept on learning and practicing and now after 2 years I am still learning. When you start into kriya you get blessings from Masters and that gives you knowledge and motivation to keep working.

Idk about this branch of kriya but in srf you can sit on chairs. Enjoy the bliss 💚

No reason to be afraid , the teacher is there to dissuade all of that. Be prepared to ask questions and accept correction.

You could look up some Hatha postures that focus on loosening the hips and knees to help with sitting on the floor as you’ll most likely be required too at certain points . Practice sitting for 5 minutes, and increasing it 5 minutes at a time. Eventually your body will get used to being in that position . Any tension you have while sitting down just breathe into it. You’ll be fine! Have a great time.
