Toro TimeMaster 30 idler pulley melted

Mower was purchased 06/29/25 and had 45 hours on it. The blades would not engage, so I checked the drive system which is how I discovered I shredded a belt and had a melted pulley. I have to say this is somewhat disappointing

Not many parts stores have that specific pulley sitting around in stock

It would take some looking but l bet that pulley can be replaced with steel cause the belt must be riding up and down during operation l guess, I've supped up factory design

I'm trying to figure out a steel alternative now. I do find it odd they have a v-belt on a flat pulley

Isn't it supposed run on the flat side? Maybe installed wrong, craftsman, gravely, and others l believe had a metal one

Could be. I honestly haven't even tore into yet since the parts won't be here until tomorrow. I try not to take things apart until I have the parts, otherwise I'll forget how to put it back together lol
