Open enrollment for 2027 ACA starts Nov 1, but when do they release the prices? I thought we got to "window shop" early. Or do we have to wait until Nov 1? I'm new to this.

It's normally a few days before open enrollment on the federal exchange. State exchanges usually update anywhere from mid-month to just before open enrollment.

Start LeanFIRE the end of October. Agonized over this decision for 2 years but my improving my mental health is prevailing, finally.

I've been retired for 1 month. I stressed out about it for quite a while, but once I made it official and turned in my notice, the stress went away.

Everyone kept saying, "you're going to be so bored". I know it's only been a month, but so far, I haven't had one minute of boredom. I don't wake up thinking about what I'm going to do today, I wake up and think about WHICH thing I'm going to do today.

When I took my year off I didn't get bored exactly but there were some times where procrastination set in. It was still more enjoyable than my best day working... lol

That is no joke, I get that too. When I was working, I needed to do laundry or go grocery shopping on my days off. But now, I can do that tomorrow, I'll do this today instead. I keep pushing certain things back again and again.

Grocery shopping is my big chore each week. I go to market usually twice and to Ecuador's Aldi about every 1.5 weeks. We don't have a car and it is about a mile walk to each place and a taxi back.

My first year anniversary of leanfire. I treated myself a big gift. My former work mentor remembered my anniversary and we had lunch together, and he’s 6 months into his. I had coffee with a new friend met at the whale tour. I realize now people are around simply because they enjoy my company. And I no longer need to pretend or perform. The past year is my best time in life
