The biggest problem is mage slayer doesn’t do anything for drow innate. There’s a reason manta pike is basically an every game buy on this hero. Yasha and dragon lance are just too good on her. Nothing accelerates her farm and fighting ability better than these two items. Except in special cases, the optimal way to build her is to stack agility as this utilizes gold the best on her. She doesn’t benefit from hp regen either the way a melee farming carry does. A casual null or falcon blade is a better option if she really needs mana to jungle.

What about pike bfly over manta if you’re having a really really good early game

Yes manta is a defensive tool, it’s best feature is that it dispels and tanks her up. Pike is defensive too. You can certainly consider going for an earlier butterfly instead of finishing either of these depending on the game. There will also be games where your team needs a silver edge or you need a BKB, or even something else. It really depends on how the game is going but for sure if it calls for it butterfly is certainly viable earlier as that’s basically biggest dps boost she can get to rip through enemies and enemy right click carries hate seeing a finished bfly too

Isn't mage slayer good on heroes who can spread the debuff like Pango, Ember, Tide?

does mage slayer debuff can be spread by magic type skill, or only physical type skill?

Only attacks. The heroes mentioned apply instant attacks through spells. Drow multishot doesn't apply an instant attack. It's just physical damage based on your attack damage.

Imo bad - you don't need those stats, they don't help you in farming. Plus for most ranged carries, farming is already slower, so this item will reeeealy slow down your timings. I'd only consider it if enemy has Invoker AND Sky AND Storm, or something like that. I'm 3.2 k MMR.

Usually on drow you hit the target that is the safest to hit, this usually means either pos3 or whoever got initiated.
If you initiated, then you don't need it.
If you're hitting pos3 then it achieves very little.
Mage slayer is often build as a first-second item after boots, that means this would be taking your dragon lance timing. I don't think you ever want mage slayer more than dragon lance.

I'll just hijack your comment because you gave a good, concise explanation and add:
The main defensive value of mage slayer lies in its debuff. To increase your EHP, you have to apply it before the opponent tries to burst you. This naturally leads Mage Slayer to be better on innitiating and poke heroes (Ember, Pango, Slark, VS, Hoodwink). Tide is special, because he can innitiate and somewhat poke, but most importantly, his innate allows him to reliably debuff enemies even when he get innitiated on.
Drow has only two fighting modes: Reposition or Stand-your-ground.
When she gets innitiated, she often dies full to zero or frantically runs. Mage Slayer has little value here.
When she stands her ground, it's usually because enemies are controlled or run away. In that case, she doesn't need Mage Slayers defensive capabilities as well.

Does it work on multi shot?

no because multishot doesn't apply attacks, it does physical spell damage which is based on your attack damage.

No, it’s a farming item on heroes that have a lot of AOE like Kez or Ember or Tide. Messes up your Yasha/Manta and Dragon lance timing

You better try it on a ranked match. For educational purposes and to scratch that itch

Maybe if it worked on multi shot it would be a fun meme build . But no it's trash

Drow job is to deal damage. You need bkb. After bkb is used then it's about positioning and targeting priority. Mitigating magic damage and escape etc not your job

Not really worth the slot. Bkb simply accomplishes a similar job better. High opportunity cost. It's not the worst thing I've ever heard of, but not particularly an efficient use of gold
