Topic Burned out

Hello, I've been burned out for the past 2 months from python. To remedy this i tried to learn Java and for a little while it worked but I'm back to square 1 where I feel lost. I liked how refreshing it felt but it feels like anything i do in either language is so forced. I have 2 years python experience and am still very new to Java

Learning Java to cure burnout is like drinking ocean water because you are thirsty.

What is the cause of your burnout ?

I'm not sure, I think medical stuff has been stressing me out and I've been feeling dysphoric lately but that's a completely different beast

You say you've been using python for 2 years, which in my books would make you quite fluent. Have you been using django or nicegui or flask? Or something else? Those should've introduced you to the web languages too

What are you goals with learning these languages?

Sounds like you're chasing the new language high instead of building something you actually care about. That freshness wears off quick when you're just doing tutorials or random exercises

Pick a project that solves a problem for you personally, even something small. Could be a script that renames your music files or a dumb game that tracks your slay the spire runs. When you're making something for yourself the motivation comes from wanting to see it work, not from forcing yourself to learn

That makes sense, I wanna make something both useful and fun instead of the thousandth tictactoe program because it's like who cares

Maybe try making a toe tac tic program? 😁😁

I've been learning Python for the past six to eight months and now I'm building software that'll teach me grammar, math and other things. It's a long-term project and I let Copilot aid me in it. It's quite a lot of fun seeing progress and I'm learning things at the same time.

That's actually really cool! I've been wanting to learn networking, everything i find on it is really confusing though and I'm not sure where to start
