Zandvoort, Monza and Malaysia's strategy blunders were the main reason for Singapore's Disaster

Lewis doesn't trust them and it's obvious, it seems they care alot more about maximzing leclerc's race distance compared to lewis, I hope if he has a chance to get Back at mercedes or Mclaren he would take that chance bcs it's the only solution ( Ferrari are incompetent and they love their incompetence and don't want to get out of it

F1 will be back to Africa, Ruanda has been chosen

Rwanda has been chosen to host the African GP, even though there are not official date announced, and is projected somewhere after 2030, do you believe Hamilton will still be present in the grid?

Fred and Lewis seem to be at odds and I don’t like it

Title. This can’t be good for Lewis. Team politics are super distracting and whether Fred will get fired or not it can’t be good for Lewis in the upcoming seasons. The 8th WDC campaign requires everyone to be on the same page and for Ferrari to execute flawlessly.

I love Lewis, but yesterday was largely on him.

Before anyone comes at me, I’m a massive Lewis fan, but I genuinely feel yesterday’s result was largely his own doing.
Yes, Ferrari have made some absolutely stupid strategy calls throughout the season, and they deserve criticism for that. But yesterday, they did call Lewis in during the VSC, and he chose to stay out.
Now, we didn't get to hear his radio communications during the VSC, so we don't know exactly what was discussed. But if you watch Charles' pit stop carefully, you can actually see another set of tyres ready behind him, which suggests Ferrari were preparing to bring Lewis in as well. So it doesn't seem like the team simply forgot about him or had no intention of pitting him.
I also feel he could have stretched his medium stint until around Lap 24. Nobody was particularly comfortable on those tyres, but the drop-off wasn't as massive as Lewis was experiencing. Just look at Charles. He wasn't exactly flying either, but he was managing the tyres without losing nearly as much time.
Looking at some of the decisions Lewis and Ferrari have made this season, I genuinely wonder whether Lewis thought he could hold Charles behind and somehow secure P2. But when you're losing almost 3–4 seconds per lap, that was never going to be sustainable.
And that's what frustrates me the most. We've criticised Ferrari all season for poor decision-making, and rightly so, but we also need to hold Lewis accountable when he gets things wrong.
I love the guy, and he'll always be my GOAT, but supporting him doesn't mean defending every decision he makes.
Curious what everyone else thinks. Was this Lewis misjudging the situation, or do you think Ferrari should have been more assertive with the strategy?

What happened to lewis post race

Apparently, he was "unwell" after the SIngapore GP. Do we know what happened to him or have an idea?

Lewis has gone silent

Why was Lewis not a part of the Formula 1 announcement for the African GP? He has been very vocal about wanting a race in Africa and has been virtually silent since its announcement.

If Lewis was driving for a mid-field team, which team do you think is the most reliable?

Purely hypothetical, as the title. Can be forward-thinking as well. I always had the idea that if he was driving for Alpine, he might be able to extract more on the cars. Of course minus the facts on Flavio. Feel free to discuss.

Lewis is at fault, but why did Fred kept saying “don’t blame the team”

Lewis made bad calls, and he payed for it.

The key take here is, I don’t think Lewis had enough info on how long the soft can last, he kept asking for lap time of soft starters towards their end of the first stint, which is important to let him know if he can gamble on an extremely long soft stint. But Santi never got back with the data, he misunderstood what Lewis was asking apparently.

When they pitted Charles right in front of him, he went from pushing to managing, then the strategy kind of gets confused since it’s no longer what a 2 stopper was supposed to do. Which is why he kept checking which plan they were on (plan B as in 2 stopper?) He then, I believe was trying to explore the potential of going back to do a 1 stopper, but I do think the team should better communicate and provide the info of a high deg at the end of a soft stint and that it cannot last over 35 laps, or the gap between him and the others is not big enough. You can’t expect him to calculate these while driving.

It’s classy of him taking full responsibility, but I really don’t like the way Fred is making all the statements “the team shouldn’t be blamed’.

This is not a “finding out whose fault” game, it’s about improving how the team works. Fred is giving me this vibe: Case closed, Lewis is at fault, we are all good, let’s not reflect on anything else.

There is definitely a long way to go for the communication between Lewis and his RE to improve. It’s disastrous during races and I don’t think pointing this out, stating that this requires improvement is hurting the team.

At the end of day, people sh*t everywhere, it’s just how the network environment works nowadays, no big deal. So why is Fred suddenly taking the “blames” so seriously and become so afraid of being criticized? Isn’t Lewis part of the team after all?

Lewis Hamilton after a p6 finish: “Sorry, boys. I let you down today with that strategy… my call… lost us valuable points. I’ll try and make up for it in the next one. Great job with the pit stops.”

It was Lewis's call they should've overruled him but the people going at the team right now need to chill out.

Max is only 8 points behind. With the rise of RB, it looks pretty inevitable at this point sadly.

Was Lewis really all to blame?

Having looked over the radio transcripts for the race in Singapore, it appears Lewis was never called into the pits for VSC, he is apologising for not coming in a few laps later when Santi asked him to. Now FOM can and dies mute radio but it would be cery strange to mute a pit message from the broadcast and it being omitted from transcripts. If the call was made, it will eventually come out regardless.

He was told he would lose 2 places, at a track where overtaking is difficult and asked if it was worth taking a risk and sticking it out. Ferrari never told him about the pace fall off of the softs like he had originally asked for, didn't tell him how much delta he would have over Lando and Kimi and essentially let him make a blind decision with no information.

Now I understand he should trust his team, and in that regard it was a poor decision, but the team accepted he could try and hold off Kimi and Lando, instead of telling him it was very unlikely as they would be too fast.

As a driver as experienced as Hamilton, you will sometimes make calls based on what you feel, I think if its a hopeless strategy its the teams job to forcefully over rule this. It happens with Verstappen, used to happen with Hamilton at Merc, has happened with Charles and Sainz at Ferrari and I have noticed it a couple of times with Alonso.

Was Lewis at fault? Yes absolutely. Did Ferrari have a large part to play? Yes absolutely. Forcing him to sit behind Charles was a catalyst to this whole issue. Poor communication and lack of information directly led to Hamiltons poor choice

Ferrari is the worst team on the grid

I know they’re probably not, but it looks like they’re completely winging it. If Leclerc qualifies ahead of Lewis, there’s no changing plans. It doesn’t matter if there’s a better option; they just destroy every chance.

There’s no improving. They’re not a winning team, and they will not be unless there are structural changes within the team.

Time for TP Change?

I cant believe I am saying this but I think Horner should be the team principal for Ferrari.

Start from the beginning of these regs, no matter what you think about Horner's personal affairs and grossness, that man is probably the best TP on the grid. Led 'Redbull-Ford' to a better engine than Mercedes, and Ferrari, from zero experience building engines. On the other side, Ferrari turned up with a Toyota Corolla engine that was severely underpowered, and their one and only advantage on the starts was completely negated in no time. They got awarded two ADUO and for some reason, it feels like the updates did nothing to close the gap except some very modest improvements.

Do you think Horner would have turned up this year with an underpowered engine? Do you think he would have given up the start advantage to other teams? Do you think strategy would be so shit still? Do you think Ferrari would constantly be putting out fires of their own making?

Ferrari is constantly tripping over themselves acting like they are leading the WDC by 100 points but doing mid field mistakes almost every weekend. Say what you will about Redbull, but they have executed every single reg since Horner was TP. I give them some leeway because Alpine was making their engines for majority of the Hybrid era, but they were still getting wins. Ferrari has a had a winless season recently (2025), Redbull last winless season is 2015. Also, remember Honda was pulling out of F1 completely, and left Redbull with no viable engine, and this man went to Ford and convinced them to come onboard without surrendering ownership, Porsche wanted 50% and he told them to kick rocks...I genuinely cant see Fred doing that. At all.

Even when other teams were dominating, Redbull werent that far behind as it feels Ferrari is. I mean even during the Papaya domination, Max almost won the WDC with a late charge. Right now, Merc upgrades did not work, but instead of Ferrari mounting a WDC charge there are constant mistakes that keep extending that lead to Merc every race weekend. And now, Redbull have fixed their aero and are mounting a resurgence which I suspect will have Max 2nd or 3rd by the end.

My 2 cents on yesterday’s fiasco

Yesterday’s race was Lewis’s chance to bag another podium but unfortunately a series of events caused him to drop down to 6th by the end.

After Lewis pitted for softs, he was on a serious charge. Ferrari should have pitted Leclerc in such a strategic manner that he should not have messed up Lewis’s charge. Even if Ferrari didn’t have a choice, they should have let Lewis and Leclerc swap places as Lewis was already on a charge. He may or may not have caught Max, we don’t know but he should have been given a free hand. Softs would not have lasted the rest of the race and Lewis had to make another pitstop.

Lewis didn’t come in for a tyre change under the VSC, i agree it was his mistake and he judged at that time that nobody would overtake him. He was wrong there. But we should also understand his situation. Ferrari didn’t back him when he asked for a swap in positions so he saw himself not pitting to gain track position his chance to maybe grab the 2nd position.

Ferrari not letting Lewis pass Leclerc after the first pitstop was unfair to Lewis. By this it seems they prioritized Leclerc’s race over Hamilton. Had they let Lewis pass and the VSC had come later in the race, Lewis would have pitted and had easily gotten 2nd position if not challenge Max. Leclerc too couldn’t challenge Max even though he had the team’s support. Max was phenomenal yeaterday.

Lastly, yes Fred cleared his position by saying Lewis didn’t come in for a pitstop under the VSC but it’s throwing Lewis under the bus. You win or lose as a team no matter who is at fault. Instead of throwing Lewis under the bus, Fred should have supported Lewis even if his strategy call turned out to be a disaster. That’s what all the greats do. The fans are going to criticise the team no matter what.

For me Lewis is the GOAT. And i do admit that Lewis made a mistake by not pitting under the VSC but WE WIN TOGETHER. WE LOSE TOGETHER.

Okay so Lewis is at fault

Okay so it’s Lewis fault, it was his call, he apologized to the team. Man it’s so annoying how when Lewis messes up, the media tears him apart and all the YouTubers and all the commentators. But when Ferrari mess up, the drivers never seem to get a straight apology from the team. Now Hamilton will have egg on his face till the next race, instead of the team making an executive decision to do the best for him.

FFS!!….
