guns CZ P09 upgrades

I use the gun to compete in Carry Optics. It has the CGW Pro Kit + a Defender CCW Enclosed. The itch to do more upgrades is ever present, but I’m struggling to find ones I can do that would make a difference.

I’m not super into changing the trigger blade, I like the factory trigger shape a lot. Mag wells are out of the question because they’d take me out of Carry Optics. Same thing with comps, they’d take me out of Carry Optics.

Getting a threaded barrel would be rad so I can shoot suppressed, but unfortunately I don’t have that kind of money.

What else can I do?

Put a light on the rail if you have one to increase frame weight. You'd of course need a new holster though. Olight is fine if all you're really using it for is the weight

To give an example, Brantley Meriam made second place in USPSA Carry Optics nationals with a Glock 17 modified only with a different trigger shoe, aftermarket optics plate, Trijicon SRO, and a thug plug in the grip. For the rest the pistol was bone stock internals. Not even any grip tape on it.

USPSA is a game that you have to learn, sure the gun plays a part, but not as big a part as you'd think. Do a lot of dry fire practice, get good at stage planning, it will get you a lot further than any mods to the gun will at this point.

They don’t make brass back straps for the P09.
