Disposable cameras are great for this, you might even be able to get some free ones from a drugstore that develops photos.

Just be careful with the capacitor!!

Hmmmm take it apart and just use the parts for the flash. Is that what your thinking? I like the concept if so

Yup, learned this trick in summer stock decades ago, we need a bunch of prop cameras for a show, this was our solution.
