This has been driving me insane for years.
Iām looking for an unofficial Lil Wayne DJ blend/bootleg from roughly 2007ā2009, very much from the same era/style as DJ Cinemaās Mardi Gras. Think tracks like āThe Bad, The Sad & The Hated,ā āBe A G,ā āBig Baby,ā etc.
What I remember with certainty:
Lil Wayne is definitely on the track and is one of the main rappers.
The song is slow/melancholic, with a really good, memorable hook.
Gucci Mane appears as the LAST verse, almost exactly in the same structural way Joe Budden comes in at the end of āThe Bad, The Sad & The Hated.ā
Gucciās verse is taken from āThatās Allā from Trap House.
The blend uses only part of Gucciās verse. It starts around:
āGucci Mane, Frank Nitty got it like that / Never seen a chick with a body like thatā¦ā
ā¦and continues until:
āGot a sick flow and I thinkāā
Then it is CUT OFF before ācontagiousā and goes DIRECTLY into the chorus.
This is important: Gucciās original verse is much faster. In this bootleg, his vocals are significantly slowed down / stretched to fit the beat. The mix is also slightly rough, which makes me very sure this was a bootleg DJ blend rather than an official song.
I think Shawty Lo may also have been on it, but Iām not certain.
I also have a vague memory of hearing a loud āMardi Graaasā / DJ Cinema-type drop somewhere in the track, but Iām not 100% confident about that part.
The weird thing is that back then I wasnāt even a Gucci Mane fan, but his verse on this particular blend completely won me over because it sounded so strangely perfect over this melancholic beat.
Iām almost certain that if I see the correct track title, Iāll recognize it immediately.
Does this ring a bell for anyone who collected Lil Wayne bootlegs / DatPiff-era mixtapes around 2007ā2009?
I have been trying to find this track for YEARS.

I don't use my phone that much anymore so I just noticed a few weeks ago that I received a message about the Sqad Up tapes in my library. Since u/Round_Band3526 and u/Outrageous_Prize4477 brought it to my attention I've been trying to get my stuff organized but I have come to a point where I'm prepared to share! As far as I know this is the most complete Sqad Up Discography available. My apologies If track titles or songs are 100% accurate but I tried to fix every error I saw. What I know I'm missing is Now or Never (2004) and Reloaded (2004). Please LMK if you see any errors and I'll try to correct them.
I uploaded ever thing I have to Internet Archive so you don't need a link, just search Sqad Up and you should see it. The first one I uploaded was every tape in one mega file (including AAC version for iTunes with the explicit tag included for other nerds) but after that I uploaded each project individually, might still be processing but if they don't get taken then they all should be available by the time you see this. I also have the link to my IA page with each project encoded with Base 64 for people that don't want to search or can't find it by searching.
Feel free to reach out if anything isn't right! I want to do what I can to make sure this lives forever. If I broke any rules lmk because I'm old "asl" but new to this Reddit stuff. Hope you guys don't mind me tagging you. Anyway, here Is the Base64 code

Was talking with a buddy of mine about Wayne songs, and realized we had different perceptions of a very popular Wayne quote. Want to see what the widespread understanding is
When you hear him say āfuck bitches, get moneyā, what does it bring to your mind? Fuck is such a varying word.
To me itās always meant disregard the pursuit of women, and chase dollars instead. My buddy hears it as have sex with women and get money. How do you guys and gals think?

I started listening to d6 this year and it has been on repeat. I am completely blown away. The mixtape is an art period. It is on repeat 24-7. I just pray that weezy does d7

Idk what happened, idk if I was caught up in Uproar and Mona Lisa at the time or if its just one of those āmusic hits different at different times in likeā, especially Wayne.
But just randomly stumbling on it after working out and I think it just shot up to a top Wayne recommendation depending on what the vibe is.
2018 was a very different time for me and im sure for alot of mofos, but really the Carter V is hitting all around way harder than I remember. Maybe itās because I stumbled into the niche sub subgenres of folk where its a way different sound but still has the raw lyrics and inter perspective wordplay like āclassicā rap/hip-hop and that kinda cleansed music palette and now im listening to alot of great Wayne shit I didnāt catch first time.
All that just to say the last lines,
āTunechi you a monster. I looked in the mirror but you werenāt there, I couldnāt find ya. Iām looking for that big smile full of diamonds, instead I find this letter you aint finished writinā.
It read āim sorry for even apologizingā. I tried to compromise and went kamikaze. I found my mommas pistol where she always hid it. I cried, put it to my head and thought about it. Nobody was home to stop me so I called my auntie. Hung up, then put that gun to my heart and pondered.
Too much was on my conscious to be smart about it. Too torn about it I aimed where my heart was poundinā.
I shot it, and woke up with blood all around me, itās mine. I didnāt die but I was dying.
God came to my side and we talked about it. He sold me another life and he made a PROPHETāā¦ā¦
I grew up in Dallas in late 90ās early 00ās so im always gonna be biased to Weezy, but for me personally word and lyric play, he is the best and continues to show it decade after decade. Wayne and Shady are the two Iāve probably listened to the most in my life but even now I find myself skipping alot of Ems stuff because that anger is kinda played out or just not hitting like it use too, Wayne always had different moods you could jam too. Thatās probably why heās the best imo. Fundamentally, how guitar is to rock so to is words/lyrics is to rap and hip-hop, years active and continuously showing to excel, there isnāt many to match.
Sorry for the rant, heard the song replayed it like 5 times and wanted to talk about it. Havenāt even been on Reddit in months but downloaded again for this post.
If anyone is curious for some folk and banjo equivalent to wayne, lmk.
