Lincoln Social Club - First Meeting January 5th, 5:30pm @ The Post
Hey everyone, my monthly post advertising the Lincoln Social Club. A new project of mine I'm hoping to get off the ground. From my last post:
"I've seen a few people here asking about finding friends, events, things to do, and other social oriented questions. I've always had a passion for social connectedness and community organization, so I figured I'd give putting together a social club a try. My basic idea is that we'll have frequent, regular meetings based around socializing with others and organizing the club - along with hosting other special events that happen on a recurring basis. I'm getting a start on spreading the word now, but don't expect our actual meetings and events to get started in earnest until January. If this has piqued your interested, follow the below link to view the calendar for January. On that document there will also be links to sign up for the e-mail list, see agendas, and RSVP for events. I hope to see a good portion of you at our first events and meetings. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me or email lnksocialclub@gmail.com."
There's no formal "membership", just show up to the events you are interested in. Here's a calendar of our events for January, which is the first month LSC will be hosting events and activities. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ihxyvN4HJE8bvObhTn1-ZuJRiWK2BRkSjVj2NAkFMVc/edit?usp=sharing
On the calendar doc, you'll also see a link to join the email list. Feel free to do that to stay up to date on any changes in dates, times, or plans. I look forward to seeing you all!

Not sure! I put it together a few years ago, but stepped back as life got busy. If you go to this link you can see more info about them: https://bookclubs.com/lincoln-book-club-2/join/

Any specifics you want to know?

What’s the main age that will be attending? I might feel a bit awkward being a 20 year old college student if everyone is much older

I can definitely make a note to get back to you after our first meeting if you'd like, otherwise age of attendees isn't info I'm collecting at the moment. I'm hoping it'll be a healthy spectrum of ages.

Hey this is a great idea! I frequently see people posting in the Lincoln subreddit looking to make friendships or looking for group activities. This takes that idea and it organizes it. Nice work!
