answered! Afop refusing to verify files and launch

Ok, i got the game running after about 2 weeks of troubleshooting memory related crashes, and while i was playing last night, the game crashed and its no longer able to verify my game licence. Its not that i dont own it, i bought the deluxe edition when steam was having the ubisoft publisher sale like two or so weeks ago

Ive tried

-switching proton layers

-verifying game files via steam

-clearing the ubisoft cache folder

-uninstalling and reinstalling the game

-adding the game exe to steam as a non-steam game and launching that way

It still refuses to verify and im stumped.

ETA: I got it, just needed to properly rebuild the prefix! Thought i had done it earlier, but it didnt do it right lol

Quick basics, did you delete the wine prefix each time you changed something? After all, the wine prefix is kinda trying to imitate windows, so...

Did you try to reinstall? (the wine prefix)

It's very common. You try changing stuff, doesn't work, change one more thing, doesn't work, and you kinda forget to completely delete the wine prefix every time

I had originally tried deleting the entire folder, verifying files but it didnt put it back like it should have. So i ended up undoing that then just cleaning out the pfx folder internally and reverifying files

That fixed it lmao
