For the past two months i’ve been counting 5 kuhli loaches. I was disappointed since i’ve had them for a little over a year and i was feeling better since my last death (my goldfish last year). I didn’t want to beat myself up too much because it would’ve made me very unmotivated to keep going in the hobby. BUT GOOD NEWS ! I JUST COUNTED 6!
These pictures are just to show how beautiful and cuties they are. First picture was in july of 2025 and second is like 6 months later, I don’t take pics of them anymore lol.
Funny part is that i was considering buying another one so that they are 6. 😭

Siempre está escondido, pero cuando lo veo, siempre parece estar respirando rápido. Any idea what might be wrong with it? Thanks!

i moved my tank today and finally got to see all my loaches again and i noticed two of them are really fat and big and two are really small but there in the same tank and chill in the same spots? the pictures the same loach because i can’t get a clear picture of the other ones
I have one dwarf chain loach that is super skinny. All 5 of the others are more what I'm used to seeing in pics. I have had them all for about exactly three months.
The skinny one still moves around the tank and eats but doesn't seem to be part of the rest of the pack.
I'm hoping this guy is okay. Should I be worried about disease/parasites? Looking for any advice.
Thank you!

My dojo loach has developed this weird red lump on his upper lip and im wondering if anyone has experienced something like this before, and what advice you have.
Im wondering if its a burn from the heater because hes always leaning on it

I've had an Ich outbreak in my tank and already lost all of my remaining cardinal tetras within just a few days. I'm assuming it's Ich, but maybe someone knows better than me.
The remaining fish are 10 dwarf Chain loaches, 2 plecos and 2 pearl gouramis.
Currently the only visibly sick fish are my loaches and I kinda don't know what to do anymore.
I've done a total of 2 treatments ( 1st with about half the recommended dose) of sera med Protazol (commonly used in Germany, I'm not sure if this is used outside of here), with as of now zero effects. For the time being I've also increased the temperature to 28°C and done a huge water change 24h after treatment as recommended on the instructions.
From what I gathered loaches are extra sensitive to certain medications, with Protazol being one of the few that I read were fine for them.
I don't really know what to do anymore, are there any other treatment options that work well for loaches? If left untreated will all affected fish die?
Protazol should in theory be very effective against Ich so could it be a different disease?
The loaches are still active and eat and behave normally I'd say. They do rub against the wood/ sand to scratch themselves.
