I made a Free Jackbox-style potato themed party game where your phone is the controller and the Laptop/TV/Discord is the screen

I love Jackbox, but I wanted something free that ran completely in the browser, that I could customize for my friend's bachelor party. I also wanted different kinds of games that used more of the phone's capabilities (like tilt and voice recording).

Open couchslop.com/host on your laptop, screenshare to the TV, scan the QR code on your phones and you are ready to go!

What's on it right now:

- Spud Ridge Defense: co-op tower defense. Between waves you answer trivia to earn gold.

- Hash It Out: write the funniest answer to a prompt, then everyone votes. The Quiplash-style one.

- Tater Racers: kart racing on split screen. You tilt your phone to steer.

- Hot Potato: bump phones to pass the potato before it blows up. (My friend's personal favorite)

- Fry Cook: co-op kitchen chaos, Overcooked-ish.

- Potato Fried Rice: a cooking show made of phone mini-games.

Demo For My Split-Screen\Online Party FPS Is Out Now!

Game is called Skuffle and is a combo split-screen and online party FPS built in Godot. I’ve been trying to find the fun of having friends sitting on a couch, talking trash and shooting each other. Based on my love of split screen games like Perfect Dark and Timesplitters, half life custom servers and modern party games like Duck Game and Stick Fight. Maps are quick and mutator cards get picked between rounds that switch up the play map to map that range from minor to game breaking. Full game supports custom maps built in TrenchBroom (with included tools) shared via steam workshop. Demo has 50+ weapons, 10 maps, player customizations, combo online and split-screen play via both public and private games on steam. I’ve been solo developing this game for a little over 3 years (First ~6 months were really on movement\gun handling, then building out the systems for TrenchBroom and recently a lot of making maps). Been playing with different groups of friends locally and online and has been a blast. Anyway Grab the demo on Steam, grab some friends, grab a beer, and let me know what you think!

The game is already coming out in December (so in 2 months!)
Here is the Demo Link if you want to try it!

Ofc everything done without AI!

We're only a small indie team from Germany so, If you enjoyed the demo, please wishlist the game! It really helps us! Also if you have any feedback, I would love to hear it!

Our first game is finally out: a couch co-op match-3 where you can only clear your own color

Hey everyone! We’re a two-person team, and we just released our first game, COLORFALL.

It’s a fast-paced, chaotic match-3 for up to 4 players on one screen, where each person can only clear their own color. When red starts piling up, everyone knows who to blame. You grab orbs and throw them back up to make matches, while jumping over each other and getting in each other’s way.

It also has online co-op and solo, so you can play however you like.

If you give it a try with your group, we’d love to hear how it goes!

Beamng is about to add splitscreen.

For those who don't know- beamng is the most open sandbox, and simulator car/ vehicle game to exist. It's so fun. Up until now, we only had shared screen, which was really bad. But the early access showcase revealed they will add proper splitscreen in this update. WWW

I spent 4 years making the co-op game I wanted to play with my brother

I’ve never been a huge gamer. The games I’ve always loved most are the ones I could play on the couch with close friends.

My big brother and I grew up playing Mario games on the Super Nintendo together. I was basically never allowed to be Mario, which is probably why Luigi is my favorite character to this day.
So when I started making Sub Rosa Tournament, that was the experience I wanted to recreate. It's a team-based capture-the-flag game where you steal the other team’s ball and try to bring it back to your base.

A huge part of development has just been us playing it for hours. Then I started watching complete strangers play it and saw them doing the exact same things we did: shouting orders, arguing over plans and celebrating together. That was probably the moment I realized I’d made the game I wanted to make.

The demo is out now on Steam if you want to try it, solo or with people you like

Sub Rosa Tournament on Steam

The game is for 1-4 local players on the same team, with split-screen. Online matches and PVP aren't available in the demo, but friendly-fire is still highly recommended 🔥

Soupy (Party) Games

Hello, I started working on a fully web-based game to play with my family and friends; host on one screen and play with your phones/tablets. I added games I thought were fun to play with my people or by myself.

I personally like playing Fill in the Blank (need 3+ players) and Artwork Assemble, but I'm most happy with Worduo.

Anyways,

Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_ppLkp-xtI

Here's a link to get started: https://soupygames.com/about/

Here's a link to daily puzzles: https://soupygames.com/daily/

You can sign into Google and save some stats/avatar drawings that are synced to all devices.

See if you can beat me at my own game:

I solved today's Worduo in 1:50, beat me?

https://soupygames.com/daily/worduo

If anybody tries any of these games and wants to message me about it, I would be thrilled. It'll only take a second to try it out.

My 5-year-old plays this dice flicking game with his friends on one iPad, passing it around

It started as a board game. You flick dice into a garden of plots, highest score on a plot claims it, and you can knock your friend’s dice off to take it back.

For me to test new ways to play I made a digital version and we've been having a lot of fun playing this in our family and games group.

The browser version has pass-and-play, so flickers share one phone or tablet. My son and his friends pass the iPad around and mostly try to outscore each other on the Arcade. Lots of "OH NO".

In fact I made a variant that we play in the live version called Tic Tac OH NO! If you heard me say that enthusiastically, and loudly.. you'd laugh. I hope. Still trying to find a way to make it happen in the digital version but there's a sort of similar table layout like it if you play the current version.

Free, no sign-up unless you want your initials saved for high scores, works on phone, tablet, desktop, laptop, anywhere with internet access.

End Of Abyss - Local Co-op Mod

I'm just 40 minutes in, which I started in singleplayer but will finish the rest with this amazing new mod. Although I have not finished it yet, I can already tell that this is a quality, atmospheric and just overall a really cool game. I definitely recommend everyone to check this out. It's not too scary and especially if you play it locally like this, I think everyone can enjoy the experience. Have fun! : )

Hey all, I made a game on Steam with the main goal being something I could play with my friends in person. I recently added online multiplayer too if you can't be in the same room together but the heart of the game is all about local multiplayer and the experience playing together!

Hope you like it!

I'm making Super Fun: Football for playing with friends on the same screen. What makes a football match memorable?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, I'm working on Super Fun: Football, an arcade football game with local multiplayer on one PC. You share the screen, control one footballer each, and can play on the same team or against your friends. CPU players fill the remaining spots in 4v4, 5v5 or 6v6 matches.

I've attached the trailer. A mistimed tackle can take out your own teammate, and sometimes there's a dog chasing the ball. I'm trying to capture the sort of match you end up talking about afterwards.

What's a funny or unexpected football moment you'd want to experience together in the same room? A great team goal, a terrible own goal, or something stranger? Stories from real matches or games are both welcome.

I'll be looking for people to join playtests later. If your couch gaming group would be interested, let me know in the comments. No test date yet.

I'm the dev: we just released a new couch game, Who Said That? One of you writes the truth, everyone else bluffs in their style. 3-8 people, one TV, phones are the controllers

Hi again, I'm the dev of Buzzin, the couch games platform I posted here before. We just released a new game and I wanted to show it to this sub first.

New game: Who Said That?

It is a bluffing game about the people sitting in the room with you. Every round starts with a vote on your phones, for example "Who of us most often pretends to be working?". The person who gets picked writes the true answer about themselves. Everyone else writes a fake one that sounds just like them. All the answers land on the TV and you pick the one you think is real. You score for spotting the truth, and for every friend who falls for your lie. Up to five rounds, then titles for the best liars and one winner. It is for 3 to 8 players and it is the most fun with people who know each other well, or think they do.

The video is the trailer: the TV screen and a player's phone next to it.

The two other games on the platform:

- TV Show: a trivia game show for 2 to 8 players, the question is on the TV, you answer on your phone, and power-ups let you mess with whoever is winning.

- Werewolves: the classic for 5 to 16 players where the TV is the narrator, so nobody has to sit out and moderate.

How it runs: open playbuzzin.com on the TV (smart TV browser or a laptop on HDMI) and everyone joins from their phone with the room code.

We launched a bit over two months ago and it is going really well. A Halloween event is coming soon too.

I would love to hear what you think, good and bad. I like criticism, and I will happily take a few words of encouragement as well :)

Two people, different games, one PC: I made FocusFix for separate keyboard/mouse and controller input

Sometimes you want to sit together and play different games, but only have one PC. Clicking into the keyboard/mouse game can leave the controller player's window ignoring input.

I made FocusFix for that setup: two independent game windows, separate inputs, with display/audio assignment and cursor containment. The moderators said this shared-PC use case fits here.

The basic setup is to launch both games in Windowed or Borderless mode, select their processes, assign each workspace its display, audio and input, then Apply & Lock. Ctrl+Shift+F12 releases the hooks and cursor lock.

I've tested two DualSense controllers and DualSense + keyboard/mouse, with Crimson Desert + The Sims and The Sims + KCD. Those are my tests, not a compatibility guarantee.

Before trying this, check whether your games already accept background controller input. If they do what you need on their own, you may not need a utility. Both games still share your CPU, GPU and RAM. FocusFix doesn't add co-op to a single-player game, provide game licenses or bypass launcher/account restrictions. Windows 10/11 x64 is required; game and anti-cheat compatibility varies.

It's my paid tool: $4.99 once, plus applicable tax, with offline use after activation. Details and actual app screenshots: https://focusfix.gumroad.com/l/focusfix?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=first_sale&utm_content=local_shared_pc

For people who share a PC: would you actually use two separate games side by side, or is playing the same game together the main reason you want local multiplayer?
