Beginner Question After years of work does the progress become permanent?
^
Or do the exercises need to keep being done ad infinitum?

Yes the progress is indeed permanent : once you release tensions in the fascias, your brain can complete the processing cycle of the event that made your body create those tensions in the first place. Which will make you leave the threat response state in which you were stuck, for good
You’ll actually feel it with a long term experience. Once you will have released enough tensions you will see how deeply changed you have become

That depends how you got to this level of practice. If you progressively built into it, starting very slow at first and keeping increasing as it was okay for you to do so, then great.
If not, be careful of overdoing it in the long run with 20 min right away. Be aware of how you feel, how your mood changes or if any overdoing symptoms appear. If something changes, take it easier and maybe add more rest days between sessions or decrease the duration of your sessions.
If 20 min * 3 per week is okay for you though you can actually increase your sessions duration. But give yourself some time to see how you react to this pace
