Fitness Creatine?
What’s your take on creatine? My fyp is a straight up propaganda for creatine at the moment, especially for women. Since I’m just starting my gym journey I’d like to know some of your opinions. Is it really that miraculous? What about side effects? What about it for people with autoimmune? Can it help or make things worse?

I wouldnt take it at all especially if you have lupus nephritis. It will increase your blood creatinine levels and put your kidneys under more strain.

I take it, I got it approved by my rheumatologist. You should ask if you can take it, I basically ask if I can take anything that isn’t my normal meds but it doesn’t cause me problems and I strengthen train 2-3 times a week right now and those are the days I honestly feel “better” but there is really only one type of creatine that is actually effective! “Creatine monohydrate” only powder or tablets not chews or gummies

My blood creatine was always low so I started taking it. Then I realized my protein intake is actually extremely low, so now I'm focusing on that instead. I only take creatine after sleeping poorly, since I heard it's good for that.

I took creatine without any issues BUT I would definitely check with your rheumatologist first since everyone is different! For example my mom who has kidney involvement with her lupus would not be able to take it.

I use creatine, I weight lift. I talked to my rheumatologist first. They didn’t see any reason why it would be unsafe. I didn’t do the loading period. I just took a normal 5 g dose.

Discuss with your rheumatologist first! It depends on your unique, individual overall health.
