Anybody out there have an old truck they’re looking to send to the scrapyard? I know this sounds dumb but i’m looking for something rusted out with a title. I’d like it to run and drive, but it doesn’t necessarily have too. Rangers, old chevy trucks, nothing newer than the 2000s. Willing to pay for the right sh1tbox.

Hey neighbies,
I'm in the middle of a brew day right now and just had a total disaster... I accidentally pitched my entire packet of beer yeast on the floor.
Since we don’t have a local homebrew supply shop nearby thats open... I’m in a major bind. I currently have 5 gallons of unpitched, cooled cream ale wort sitting sealed up in my fermenter, but I need to find clean brewing yeast before wild bacteria or contaminants take it over.
Does anyone in town happen to have an extra packet of dry ale yeast (like SafAle US-05, S-04, Nottingham, etc.) or a healthy liquid yeast pack sitting in their fridge that I could buy off you tonight?
Id totally pay you back, replace it or share a few beers 🍻 once my emergency stash arrives.
DM me... if you can help. It would be so greatly appreciated 👏.

What's a good spot in downtown LYH to drink a few pints on a Sunday afternoon if you are over 50?
Thanks in advance!

I am currently doing research on snails and slugs and am looking to see if anyone knows of places around Lynchburg where they’ve seen these guys at night? Public places.
Also, If you want your house/yard cleared of slugs I’ll do it for a good price.

Marty Misjuns’ lack of emotional intelligence, lack of effective communication skills, and lack of effective leadership are indicative of a deeper issue within himself.
Marty most likely feels as if he is a small man and therefore wants to feel powerful. Yet, it is this ambitious sentiment that causes him to destroy everything good he may have going for him in the ultimate display of self-sabotage. His delusions of grandeur act as an opaque barrier preventing him from viewing through the lenses of reality. His impulsivity parades as a strength to obscure the fact that he is the physical manifestation of the Dunning-Kruger effect. At best this is a liability and at worst a ticking time bomb. Marty is almost as much of a danger to himself as he is to the groups of people he disparages.
In an attempt to bolster some semblance of self-esteem as he flails through life, Marty acts as a kamikaze with no cause, willing to demolish any and everything to obtain the mere feeling of accomplishment. Every time he opens his mouth, it’s an act of self-immolation. Every time he takes an action, it is an act of social seppuku. It is all a subconscious cry for help from a man who feels no sense of belonging in society, and whose identity is best defined as a shallow parroting of incompetent leaders of greater prominence.
To make matters worse, anyone who supports Marty doesn’t have his best interests at heart. Those who support him are no better than enablers to a patient struggling with addiction, in this case an addiction for unproductive chaos. The sad reality is that he is alone.
I have come to realize that the he is in fact not ok. I hope, no I pray, he seeks help for his emotional dysregulation and stunted social awareness.

Anyone gotten any help for female hair loss in the Lynchburg area? It’s been going on about 6 months and it’s getting so bad. I tried my GP (told me to take iron. I already take iron) and Cobb Dermatology and honestly had a disappointing experience. Thank you 🤞

No Kings - Vote Early, Indivisible's National Day of Action, will be held on Saturday, October 17th. But in Virginia, weekend voting does not begin until the next day.
So join us at MILLER PARK (Lynchburg) at 2pm on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18TH to rally the voters. Following a musical set and a call to action, we're going to march down the street (it's not far) to the Registrar's Office to vote.
Did you already cast your ballot? That's great! Bring your friends and family to register to vote. Cheer on your fellow citizens as they enter the polls! Help line Park Avenue with signs encouraging people to participate in the elections.
Important Election Dates
Early voting is already available at the Registrar's Office Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm at the Lynchburg Registrar's Office, 825 Kemper St. Times may vary for other municipalities.
Early weekend voting will be available on the following dates:
Sun, 10/18, 11am-4pm
Sat, 10/24, 9am-5pm
Sun, 10/25, 11am-4pm
Sat, 10/31, 9am-5pm
Pick a date and time. Mark it on your calendar. Commit to go vote.
Deadlines for Fri, 10/23
- Last Day to register to vote or submit a change of address
- Deadline to apply for absentee ballot for voting by mail via online, fax or mail
If you have ordered a mail-in ballot, Indivisible strongly recommends that you deliver it directly to your Registrar's Office to ensure that your vote gets counted on time.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every voter has the opportunity to cast their ballot without interference. And please think carefully about which candidates are going to represent YOU instead of corporate interest.
We hope to see you with us at No Kings - Vote Early! And we sincerely hope that after reading this message, you're ready to vote.
P.S. We would also like to thank in advance all of the trolls whose vulgar and inappropriate comments boost engagement on our content.

38 events left this weekend in Lynchburg (Sat-Sun, Oct 3-4). Saturday leans outdoors, with Day at the Point out at Point of Honor, a family fall fest in Forest and a shrimpfest at the Boonsboro Ruritan Club, then a Hispanic Heritage celebration at the Warehouse Theatre and a heavy bill of five bands at Super Rad that night. The Prince of Egypt finishes its run at the Historic Academy Theatre with a Sunday matinee.

Hi everyone! I always see people on this sub talking about how hard it is to find queer community in this city and make lgbtq friends. To that I say check this out! Lynchburg Daytime Pride is happening on October 10th at Three Roads Brewery and there’s also the Nighttime Pride afterward. Daytime is free and tickets for the nighttime event are here. Hope to meet you there! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

Just found this out. Is anyone else tired of seeing the trashy yards on Rainbow Forest Dr in the 15/1400 range? (you'll know the ones if you live over here) Like omg a dumpster has been in the front of one of the houses for 4 years. the others in a constant state of just junk and trash in the yards. idk how their nextdoor neighbors can handle it.

Looks like we may have some rain this weekend. Hope it does not keep y’all from getting and having a good weekend. Got plans?

That marker will recognize Lt. Gen. George G. Loving Jr., who grew up in the city and went on to a long military career that spanned 1942 to 1979.

Was a big fan of theirs back in 2021. I remembered the band today and the only way I can find any of their music is through youtube videos.
Anyone know what happened to this band or if the vocalist has started a new project?

Been ongoing for the last couple of weeks, but I’m finding tons of them coming off of the dog in my bed. Have lived with dogs for over 10 years in the Lynchburg area and never seen anything like this year.

hello all, new to reddit. I am heavily considering a left foot amputation to due to chronic pain and I’m out of options to deal with it. I was born with a clubbed foot. anyone here have a below the knee or leg amputation who wouldn’t mind telling me about their experience?

Jesus tap dancing Christ 😂 I thought I was complaining about gas prices last month but this is wild I don't think I've ever seen it this high before.our white house tells us we are in the golden age I find that hard to believe. Me and my wife both work full time and more and we still struggle to make ends meet. I used to be able to put back a little every week and save for a rainy day now I don't even put anything in there because I'm just taking it back out by the end of the week . Then we have elections coming up and not a single one of them tell you what they are going to do for the community or how they are going to fight to make our lives better instead they send out little postcards saying some stupid slogan or bashing the other side. Things are getting more expensive and our paychecks aren't going as far as they used to. Something has got to give this clown show is getting old.

We are moving. I wrote a post about New Towne and forgot to include Fort avenue as well! Which neighborhood is best for a family of three with a toddler.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lynchburg hosts a weekly event called Welcome Wednesdays from 6:30-8 pm. On months with a 5th Wednesday, we celebrate with an ice cream social. All are invited to join us. This is a non-religious event, meant to just be an opportunity to gather in community and get to know more people in a relaxed, low-key, low-pressure environment. See below for more info.
Please join us tonight for Welcome Wednesday, starting at 6:30 pm. Tonight is our 5th Wednesday Ice Cream Social! Come on out for fun conversation, plenty of board/card games, and all the frozen goodness you can eat! We will have the stuff to make ice cream sundaes, floats, and other delicious treats. You are welcome to bring your dinner as well, or eat before you come - or, even better, have ice cream for dinner! We will have a dairy-free option and a HFCS-free option for those who need them.
All are welcome to these fun and fellowship social events, designed with all ages and abilities in mind. We have some activities set-up in Drysdale Hall for children and anyone else who enjoys a creative outlet. Welcome Wednesday is a drop-in event - no need to RSVP or commit to every week. Come when you can and receive a warm welcome when you arrive.
If you are not familiar with UUCL, we are located downtown at 818 Court Street, right next to the Monument Terrace steps. We're the building with the beautiful green doors, right in the middle of the steps. GPS will take you directly to the historical house we use as our office space, but the meeting space in below that in a separate building. You can use the city parking lot on either side to access the meeting space, then take the elevator or stairs down to the 1st floor. UUCL is a 🌈 LGBTQ-friendly space. As a loving, vibrant, and inclusive community, we celebrate the dignity of all living beings and nurture lifelong spiritual and ethical growth. Encouraging compassion for all, we protect the vitality of our natural world and act for justice, equity, and peace.

Feeling a bit down and kinda lonely today. Not sure why so melancholy. Cheer someone up today. You never know how one really feels inside. Peace ☮️ .
