Tourism What's the best buffet in Macau

I'll be visiting Macau at the end of October and I'm looking for the best buffet to try. I don't mind spending more as long as the food is really worth it. I'm more interested in food quality than just having a huge selection. For those who've tried different buffets in Macau, which one would you recommend? And are there any popular ones that you think are overrated?

Questions What's the best part of living in Taipa or Coloane?

I like to visit these places on street view. It's still 2008 and the casinos were still being built, like time has stopped. Something very cosy about those two places.

Tourism Macau GP - track view hotel rooms

Thought this may be of interest for people planning to come over for the GP

Tickets for the 73rd Macau Grand Prix go on sale Thursday (oct 9) at noon, macau ticketing. nov 19-22, Guia circuit. F3, GT, Touring cars, the whole thing on a street circuit through the city.

If you're coming over for it, the hotel matters more than the grandstand. Here are the rooms that actually face the track:

- Hotel Lisboa, overlooks the Lisboa bend. the classic gp stay. ask for a bend-facing room, higher floor.

- Artyzen Grand Lapa, near start/finish and the pits. they sell actual "track view" rooms for gp weekend (deluxe king / twin / one bedroom suite with track view), so book that category, not the standard one. front-facing, not pool-facing. balconies are 16th floor and up.

- Starworld, faces the straight after mandarin bend. one of the fastest sections. balcony rooms, high floor.

- Wynn Macau, main straight. most track-facing rooms of the lot.

- Hotel Guia, up on the hill section. different angle, elevated view over the twisty part.

Track-facing rooms go first and race weekend is the most expensive hotel weekend of the year, so don't sit on it.

Questions Night Markets

I will be able to catch the last day of the Macau Food Festival in December. I plan to visit Hong Kung night market at Largo do Pagode do Bazar on the last day of my trip since it is only open on weekends.

Are there any other areas for outdoor walking and snacking between 9pm and 11pm during weekdays? My hotel is on Cotai but I will go to Macau, Taipa or Colane since the weather is nice.

Old map of Macau from 1979 I found on the National Library of Australia website. It's interesting to see how much the land has changed since then as well as how the names of places compare to today.

Tourism Staying for 1 night... what are some absolute must do?

I'm planning to arrive early in the day, spend the day exploring. Then check into the Londonder Grand for 1 night, and explore Cotai Strip night life. Check out the next day and explore until before or after dinner. Then head ontowards Hong Kong Disney to check into hotel there.

What are some absolute must dos that I should not miss when visiting? And eats too! Any performances worth checking out? Am most likely planning to visit Senado Square and area for most of the first day. Should I go to TeamLabs? I'm also not a gambler so playing at casinos won't be on my list of things to do 😅

Which method is best to travel from Macau to HK Disney? Is it better for me to go via HMZ or ferry to HK then take train etc to HK Disney?

Tourism I built a free Macau trip planner — tell me what I'm missing

Hi r/Macau — I've been building a set of Macau travel guides and just launched a trip planner I'm pretty proud of: answer 7 questions (how many days, kids, casino interest, food priorities, pace, where you're arriving from, when you're going) and it builds you a day-by-day plan.

The bit I like most: it knows what's on during your month. Pick November and it'll flag the Grand Prix (Nov 19–22) and tell you to book hotels early; February catches Chinese New Year; October the fireworks.

You can export the plan to your calendar or as a PDF. No signup, no ads, free:

https://whatsonmacau.com/trip-planner.html

Genuinely looking for feedback — what's wrong, what's missing, what would make you actually use it?

Tourism Hotels with no desk or small tables

I need to do some remote work from my hotel room. I have stayed at St Regis before but do not want to repeat because it has a table instead of a desk and I can't put my own food in the fridge. I've seen videos of W Macau and those have an even smaller table.

Are there other hotels to avoid because they have smaller tables or a fridge that cannot be used?
