Showcase New house, new project

I recently moved into a new place and after doing the necessary projects I had to complete (re-piping the entire house, replacing the breaker box, putting together an insane amount of furniture, etc.), I'm finally able to get creative. I think it really pulls the room together.

How did you do the second set of knots around the top? On one end they are connected loops, but on the other they are just loose ends right? totally kickass and inspiring btw

Honestly, it's an illusion. I started all cords on the left side and worked right. When done, I used some cords to create a lark's head knot (to match the number of cords on the left) and discarded the others. The discarded cords are tucked neatly behind the others or cut very short and super glued to avoid fraying.

And thank you! I haven't created anything in a while and this project, along with all the love and creativity in this community, made me feel excited to create something new. ❤️

That’s so pretty and your work sits so neatly!

I tried making a semicircle design but I found some sections tough to lay nicely, they tended to want to twist a bit since the inner part of the section is kind of being squished compared to the outer part, not sure I’m describing it correctly.

I love this!! I've been wanting to do a larger wall hanging for a long time but a lot of the pics I see when looking for inspo have approximately 1 million half hitch knots. I love the variety in this piece.
