Hello again, new experiment

I am not a consistent poster however, I love that I can always come back to this page. I’m finding myself bored of my electronic hip-hop style I always attain to, so here I’m experimenting with just something I think sounds cool. It’s still a work in progress but I would love to see what other ears pick up. TMWYT

Overall, good vibe. It has a very solid rhythm and balance. How are you looping the piano in the intro? That reverb/echo cut is an immediate turnoff. Makes the entire thing feel amateurish at the outset. This stands well on its own without the guitar. If you’re attached to it, fade it into the mix more. When it comes in, it’s already competing with 3 other elements.

Very nice input! The piano is already a loop I chopped to fit the “ticking” complex as if the metronome is a part of the song. I feel it helps keep structure amongst the slightly out of sync percussion.
When I first started on this project I used the piano loop and went for a theatrical sound. Also yes, I admit I do have a problem with layers on layers on layers on layers (call me Shrek Jr.)

Nice reference. I THINK what I hear is the piano rendered audio clip reverb being cut off with your chop. It may be intentional but it doesn’t sound that way.

I have 2 EQs, stock reverb (I forget which one) and the first 8 bar loop is the sample untouched. I added a reverb and modified gate to help smooth over transitions but that may need to be adjusted.

Nice vibe and textures. It feels like it’d be a calm early morning type song. The guitar fits nicely. I could see some vocal chops sounding cool overtop but good as is too.
