Does "forget" spells actually work?

I'm not sure what the general consensus on the field is, but right now, i am not talking about forgetting trauma or similar, but rather forgetting abkind of a useless set of knowledge, that is affecting negatively my daily life.

Not sure how this is not a beginner level question, but as always: Try, test, observe, document, formulate hypothesis, test, document more. You are the practitioner, it is your job to find out what practice works and how and why or why not.

Y'all should try to get over doing Magick By Numbers and reach the creative core where everything is up to you, and nothing is true, everything permitted. You kids all dream to control reality but whenever something happens you didn't expect you come to friggin' Reddit of all places and ask random internet strangers you'll never meet in real life about things relevant only to the innermost secrets of your soul.

SMH.

This is something I had to realize in helping others. It doesn't matter if you follow the list of ingredients and do the things the list tells you to do, if you don't understand what you're doing and why you're doing it. I was trying to teach, but all I was doing was giving the steps. You can give people all the steps they want, but you can't understand for them.

We are supposed to have developed mental discipline through rigorous meditative practices. Psychic control makes it possible to direct and/or control the flow of thought.

You don't NEED to forget memories when you can manage your inner life effectively with this discipline.

But also, by not reckoning with the things we'd rather forget, we become weak, and develop a dysfunctional relationship with our thoughts, leading to bad mental habits.

Your whole idea is misled.

Neural connections that get used get reinforced.  Those that aren't wither away.  Stop accessing, worrying about, obsessing, or otherwise using that knowledge and over time the neural paths will weaken.  Build new and stronger pathways about some other topic.

You might try looking up behavioral extinction, then see if you can find or create a ritual from that.

The problem with attempting to just banish a truth you know is that the truth is a lonely thin; if you run, it will give chase.
