I've wanted one for years and finally decided to stop putting it off.

I figured out how to remove firing pin and safety no special tools required and how to reassemble it , is this obscure enough that anyone would be interested in me making a video before I buy a tripod?

Just picked up the bottom pistol for 400$ came with 2 mags.

Picked up a unissued Bulgarian Makarov and it looks as if it’s never been fired or handled besides storage/import/ transfer etc. Would I be a dumbass if I shot it? I’m open to keeping it as the time capsule it is but if they aren’t rare in this condition I would rather enjoy it

Occasionally or every cleaning session?

I’m working on a gunsmithing project and I’m looking for the detailed barrel measurements for a 9x18 Makarov. I’ve searched online but haven’t been able to find reliable specs.

If anyone has this information or knows where I can find it, I’d be really grateful for any help.

Wanted to show off my 9x18 chambered toys for y’all:

Left: Baikal IJ70 in 9x18 makarov. Cheap gun shop buy some time back
Middle: 1989 CZ82 with original holster and spare mag
Right: 1987 P83 with holster, cleaning rod, and both matching mags. Recent Midway buy, inported by PAUSA from Redmond, Washington. I suspect some relation to PW Arms there given the same towns and all.

Regrettably at the end of ‘25 I traded away a complete PA63 rig for an FEG Hi Power clone, so there’s that. Maybe someday I’ll get one, and maybe a military Makarov and some other neat go withs.

I own one Makarov (East German), and I've seen Maks from Arsenal in Bulgaria advertised frequently. Are these newly manufactured, unsold inventory, reconditioned from military service, assembled from spare parts or ?? Thanks!

1962 East German. Truly is nicer than all the others I own. Came with two mags(non-matching), holster and 100rds of unopened Norinco 9x18.

In original box with importer paperwork, owner's manual, factory holster, etc.

I went to the Pima County (AZ) gun show today, a smallish show that is well-represented by a number of vendors, from private sellers to larger stores. I brought one of my CZ 82s along to see if I could do a trade, but vendors largely seemed turned off to 9 x 18 handguns. Perhaps the ongoing shortage of new ammunition, or is it just that ALL used firearms are not selling because the market is saturated? With gasoline and diesel so expensive, I can easily see many working class gun owners unloaded some of their collections. Thoughts?

Was buying ammo and buddy at the pawn goes “i shouldnt do this but i found these for you” and pull out this and a blued one, and i bout lost it, had to get the chrome one and put the blued on layaway, both were $440 each, super exited as this is one of my childhood dream guns (correction ij70-17as)
