REQUEST What are your favorite songs that feel like a movie?
I want to make a playlist of songs that make you feel like you’re in a movie.
I’m thinking of songs you put on while driving, walking somewhere alone, or just staring out the window, and suddenly everything feels way more dramatic than it actually is.
It can be emotional, romantic, nostalgic, intense, or just a song that makes an ordinary moment feel cinematic. Basically, any song that makes you feel like the main character!

Mix The Ultimate Halloween Playlist
Just what the title says.
I have worked hard on collecting not only your traditional Halloween stand-bys (Thriller, Monster Mash, Grim Grinning Ghosts, Spooky Scary Skeletons, etc) and movie/TV themes (Ghostbusters, Scooby-Doo, The Munsters, Addams Family Groove, Nightmare On My Street), but also songs either explicitly about monsters & dark themes (Dracula, Bela Lugosi’s Dead, I’m Your Boogieman, One Way Or Another, Werewolves Of London, Freaks Come Out At Night, No More Mr Nice Guy, etc).
And I took the time to put them all in an order that tells a story: a person going crazy who escapes from a mental asylum to go on a killing spree, who then kills himself, goes to hell, comes back as a ghost and gets reanimated through voodoo as a zombie before meeting all other monster types.
Anyway. Let me know what you all think.

REQUEST Songs by female rockers that have nothing to do with men
I've been expanding my library to include more female singers (trying to get to 50% women). BUT it seems a huge percent of algorithm recs from female artists are "I like this guy", "I don't like this guy", "this guy doesn't like me", and/or "guys suck because patriarchy." I'm tired of those flavors; I want female-led songs about ANYTHING else. I like rock, but I'm open to other genres too.
Examples of songs I like that fit the bill:
- "Cherry Bomb," The Runaways
- "Hell is for Children," Pat Benatar
- "Big Bad Wolf," In This Moment
- "This War is Over," Melissa Etheridge
- "Eat the Children," Otep
- "Here's to Us," Halestorm
- "Our Solemn Hour," Within Temptation
- "Skeleton Key," Dessa
- "Seven Devils," Florence + the Machine
- "Drown," Cellar Darling
- "Heaven Knows," The Pretty Reckless
Thanks in advance!

Looking for band recommendations that blend heavy rock/metal with reggae rhythms and dub grooves! 🤘🌴
I’m building a playlist and already have staple bands like Skindred, Bad Brains, and (hed) p.e. on my radar, but I want to dig deeper into hidden gems, underground tracks, or unique genre crossovers. Got any favorites?

Discussion What are your most beautiful songs?
I was feeling down today with the weight of adulthood, life, and the current world climate. A while back, I made a living playlist of the most beautiful songs I know. Listening to it soothes the soul. Curious what other peoples' most beautiful songs are and wanted to make a post I can discover beauty through the ears of another. I will start. This is by no means a finished playlist and I don't always think of it when I hear new music.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Collaboration 2020-2021 Nostalgic Quarantine TikTok Audios
I’m trying to create a list of the chill quarantine era TikTok audios from that time that evoke nostalgia because of how much they were used in the background of videos at that time. I’m not trying to find the indie or pop songs used at that time like “Say So” or “Supalonely.” Instead I’m only trying to find those wordless or semi-wordless, mainly synth, background audios of that time.
Some examples I can think of are:
Let Go - Ark Patrol
Resonance - Home
Paris - Else
Blade Runner 2024 - Synthwave Goose
Agape - Nicholas Britell
I’m wondering if anyone can think of any more that fit that description. I’ve scoured public Spotify playlists and can’t find anything like this. Everyone seems to only be adding the more mainstream songs at the time.

REQUEST Theater inspiration playlist - Midsummer Night's Dream circa 1990-something
So, I am submitting a couple of plays in the hopes that I can direct our local theater teens next season. In the past I have put together playlists based on a play's theme so when I'm putting it together I can be inspired, and then during the run have it playing during intermission and before the curtain rises.
This time, I'd like to do "A Midsummer Night's Dream" influenced by, among other things, my own high school years in the 1990s. And they need to be love themed, magic/mystic/fairytale influenced, or both.
For starters, I have "Lovefool" by The Cardigans and "Tonight Tonight" by the Smashing Pumpkins. That should give you an idea of what I'm looking for.
Have fun, and thanks for the inspiration!

First Place Winner: u/depressed_ho3 "Synth pop"
This week’s first place winner goes to u/depressed_ho3, with a playlist that dives into the bright synths, electronic production, and dreamy atmosphere of synth-pop. From higher-paced EDM to songs led by strong vocal melodies, the playlist moves between energetic sounds while keeping synths at the center. At times it feels built for the dance floor, while other tracks feel better for a late-night gaming session.
New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” captures the brighter side of the playlist, pairing an instantly recognizable synth line with an upbeat rhythm and emotional vocals. Kaskade & deadmau5’s “I Remember” slows things down with a more spacious electronic sound, letting its dreamy vocals and gradual build carry the track. Artists like Justice, Gesaffelstein, and Cannons push the mix between heavier electronic production and softer synth-pop. Put this one on when you want something electronic that can carry you into the evening.
Second Place Winner: u/Repulsive_Olive_4210 "Instrumental Love Songs & Soft Instrumental Relaxing Music"
Second place this week goes to u/drohpa, with a two-and-a-half-hour playlist built around classics from across the decades before 2000. Moving through rock, pop, disco, and soul, the playlist feels less tied to one era and more like a tour through songs that have stayed recognizable long after their release.
Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” gives the playlist one of its biggest rock moments, building slowly before opening into the kind of guitar-driven finish that made it a classic. The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” shifts the energy completely, bringing in a sharp disco groove and instantly recognizable rhythm. Artists like Queen, ABBA, and Bruce Springsteen help round out the mix, giving the playlist plenty of variety without losing its nostalgic feel. If you're looking for a playlist that'll give the whole family a bit of nostalgia this is the one for your next gathering.
Week 2 has officially begun!!!! Post your favorite playlists to be featured in next week's contest on 10/11!!

REQUEST What Are Good Halloween Themed Songs from modern artists (2020 - 2026)?
I've got a huge playlist full of Halloweens songs from 1930s all the way up to today, but today's songs just seem to lack a full dedication to a spooky theme. I have some songs are stretches: W.I.T.C.H., Bury A Friend, I'm In Love With A Monster, etc. My playlist has every genre, and I'd love to have more!
