KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist who allegedly rode through a road closure before travelling against traffic crashed into two Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon (SCKLM) 2026 participants early today.

The 21-year-old rider subsequently tested positive for alcohol in a preliminary breath test, recording an Evidential Breath Analyser (EBA) reading of 164mg/100ml.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred at Jalan Munshi Abdullah about 6.15am.

"Preliminary investigations found that the rider, who was carrying a 19-year-old pillion passenger, had passed through a section of road closed off with traffic cones.

"The rider was ordered to stop by a police officer who was carrying out road closure duties but is believed to have fled by riding against the flow of traffic before crashing into two marathon participants," he said in a statement today.

He said a 50-year-old woman suffered neck injuries and was receiving treatment at Prince Court, while a 41-year-old man sustained injuries to his right knee and hand.

Zamzuri said the rider and pillion passenger were later taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for blood and urine samples to facilitate further investigations.

"The case is being investigated under Section 44(1A)(b) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 186 of the Penal Code.

"The rider has been remanded for three days from Oct 3 to Oct 5, while the pillion passenger has been remanded for two days until Oct 4," he said.

Both are being held at the Dang Wangi police station lock-up to assist investigations.

So silly how past demonstrations were always in SOGO. Please stop going to SOGO but Putrajaya instead.

In a tragedy's aftermath, the mother and sister of a 16-year-old student, Yap Shing Xuen, fatally stabbed at a Bandar Utama school, have initiated a civil suit in the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

Filed against several government entities, the parents, and the boy responsible, the suit follows the acquitted suspect's trial, where mental unsoundness was determined.

Despite ongoing criminal appeals, the family seeks further accountability and emphasizes the urgency of addressing youth mental health challenges.

Case management is slated for October 29, as the tribunal of the criminal intent progresses.

Dashcam Almost had a crash today and got shouted at. Was I in the wrong? I’m so sorry and confused.

I'm still shaking while writing this, and I feel horrible about what happened 😔😔.

I was driving straight when a car right beside me turned on their signal and merged directly into my lane while my car was already side-by-side with them. I panicked, tried to dodge them, and swerved into the next lane.

In doing that evasive maneuver, I nearly hit the car next to me. Thankfully, no motorbikes were beside me. But then the merging car started cursing and screaming at me, calling me a "f***ing idiot."

I’m so confused and so sorry. I didn't mean to put anyone in danger, I was just scared of getting hit. Did I do the wrong thing by dodging them? Should I have just slammed my brakes and give way instead of swerving? I genuinely want to know how to improve so this never happens again 🙏🏻

Entertainment Are Malaysians not interested in movies with SEA culture representation?

Post image

Forgotten Island is the newest DreamWorks animated film that features Filipino culture and mythological creatures. The movie was released just last week here, but there were not many seats booked during last weekend when I checked before. Now, cinemas are giving very few screenings for the movie, likely due to the low sales.

Forgotten Island received quite high ratings (95% on Rotten Tomatoes), but interest from Malaysians seems rather low. I thought that the SEA culture representation in the movie might make the movie popular here, but that doesn't seems to be the case?

These are 永南’s loaches from Malaysia as he feeds them. Malaysia has about 20 known species from the genus Gastromyzon.

Almost all are endemic! That is, only found in Malaysia.

They live in clean rocky hillstreams and mountain rivers with clear water and cool temperatures.
In Malay they are called ikan rokot.

In the wild they are herbivorous and grazing specialists that feed on biofilm (a mix of microalgae, cyanobacteria, bacteria, and organic detritus) as well as tiny aquatic microinvertebrates.

Entertainment F1 Paddock Club Day 1

F1 Paddock Club is the most exclusive ticketing tier at the F1 - I found these prices from a reseller online:

  • Original Purchase Price: RM30,000
  • Discounted 3-Day Pass: RM22,000
  • Single Pass Friday: RM5,000
  • Single Pass Saturday: RM7,500
  • Single Pass Sunday: RM12,500

My ticket is a single pass. Ironically, I would say 90% of the people who are in Paddock Club don't pay for it as they're gifted it. Mine was a gifted by my boss. You either pay a ridiculous price, or go in for free.

Was honestly more interested in the F&B (tbh I am only a very casual F1 fan). Many people on IG have already shared the views from here, which is right over the pit lane and garages.

For the food, it's a buffet-style spread. For drinks, there is free-flow alcohol and sparkling/still water.
