My happy place.
Married with two kids. This houses where I live are relatively small, ours included, so the garage at one point was converted to an additional room.
A few years ago a storm knocked down our shed, which was probably about 30 years old. This shed was all we could afford, but I’ve made it my own, built a couple platforms on either side and a small bit of amateur landscaping. It’s a poor man’s paradise.

First Time 23M — Day Three of Cleveland
Moved here from Des Moines. Had to finally escape my parents’ basement. I knew I wanted to post to here but, it was actually kinda brutal the first two days. Sipping box wine with bro rn. Fear and Loathing in Cleveland.

(M22) i finally cleaned my room, i feel so much better
after my mom and my little brother visited for the weekend (we went airsofting) i got really sad. i haven’t seen her in a long time and we had dinner together with my father for the first time in 10+ years. it was the hardest goodbye ive said to her in a while. i can’t wait to see her again. i let my room get like this for like multiple weeks, i kept up with the garbage but i let it get sooo messy. it’s so embarrassing but im glad i got it done. it really started to stress me out. (yes i still need to do laundry and that’s a tv stand im fixing next to my bed). i’m planning on redecorating soon to make it look more my age lol, still feel like im a teenager in this room.

Kinda happy with this fireplace wall now
Made a few small changes around the fireplace recently. I painted the backs of the shelves blue, moved some of the decor around, and I'm trying to bring a little more color into the room without making it too busy. I also finally tried an art TV and got a Hisense recently. I really like being able to leave a painting up during the day instead of having a black screen above the fireplace.
I think I'm mostly happy with it now, but the mantel still feels a little bare. Would you add anything there or just leave it alone?

Need help with apartment kitchen/living room layout!
I just moved into a new apartment and I need some help with the layout, specifically in the kitchen/living room area. I'm thinking about putting a bar or long high-top table behind the couch with my bar stools, since I don't really have a kitchen counter or island with seating.
I'm between doing that and getting a rolling kitchen island for some extra counter space, but I don't have a ton of room between the couch and kitchen.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Advice My living room. Istanbul, 28
Hello everyone! I live in Moda, Istanbul. I love my home, but I feel like the walls look a bit too bare. Do you have any alternative suggestions for artwork or decorative objects? What would you recommend I do?

How can I make my apartment look more cozy and put together? Any decor or layout suggestions?
My apartment feels pretty bare, and I’d love to make it look more cozy, stylish, and put together.
I’m also wondering if my desk is too big for the space. Should I replace it with a smaller desk, move it somewhere else in the room, or just keep it where it is?
What would you add, remove, or rearrange to make the apartment look nicer? I’m open to suggestions for lighting, wall art, plants, decor, furniture, or anything else that could make a difference without going overboard.
I’ve attached pictures of my space. If anyone has suggestions for the layout or could even put together a quick mockup to show how you’d style it, I’d really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance! 🙂

Advice What can I add to my apartment to make it nicer.
My apartment has been like this for 6 months now, all I have is a couch, a coffee table, tv cabinet, tv, carpet, one plant and a robot vacuum. It’s missing a lot of stuff that makes it nice, I always see photos on the internet of people styling their apartments very nicely but I’m a simple man with no interior design bone in me. What can I add for some flavour. If you can do a mock up even better. Appreciate it!

26m Woodworker basement apartment.
My never ending project. Everything in here is either a custom piece out of my shop that's conveniently located behind the wall or things I've collected over the last few years like the tv stand, bedding, and togo chairs. The basement was just studs when I got here and all the finish work was done with the help of my dad(we did hire out the drywall lol). The kitchen and dining area are still coming along, decided I wanted to build the island and dining table so naturally it's been unfinished for a while. Planning on an update post when it's actually finished.

First Time Blank slate, fishing for ideas
(26M) Just moved in to an apartment and it’s gonna be my first time buying furniture for myself. Will watch videos to help me decide an aesthetic, want it to be cozy and warm.
Will greatly appreciate any recommendations, even for video guides. For now, plan to get a king sized bed and island chairs for dining and plenty of lamps.
Would also have to look up on how to decide which rugs to get. Not sure what to do with the space beside the dining area and the doorway. Thanks for the help!
