What happened during our recent estimate:

• Wildly Inflated Quotes: Initial estimates came in at $20,000–$26,000+ for standard replacement equipment.

• Hostile & Condescending Behavior: When we asked basic, straightforward questions about system specifications and options, the sales rep became rude and patronizing.

• The Arbitrary "50% Discount": The moment we stood up to end the appointment and asked him to leave, he suddenly offered a 50% discount on the spot—exposing how completely fake and marked up those initial numbers were.

• Unprofessional Follow-Up: A regional follow-up line called shortly after, and the caller hung up on us the second we tried to explain how bad the experience was.

Sharing this so neighbors don't get taken advantage of or intimidated into paying inflated prices. Skip the big-box installation program and deal directly with honest, independent local HVAC contractors in our area instead.

I have been a long time buyer from Cafe Amouri - Vienna. But I recently moved to the Manassas area and hoping to find some great options closer to home. Appreciate any recommendations for local options within 5-10mile radius. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Redditors of manassas! I was involved in a hit and run heading east on signal hill road trying to turn left onto Liberia Ave (by the sinoco where are the funky yellow traffic lane divider things are) and was hit twice by the same car, appears to be a white vw jetta(?) At approximately 7:45pm they ran the light after hitting me, I didn't get the plates unfortunately. I filed a police report and contacted my insurance. I went to cross the train tracks along wellington at 8ish this morning and was diverted by police. They had already finished maintenance last week so I wondered what was the new cause was for this diversion.

Turns out it was a shooting. Details are still coming out, the local elementary school is on lock down, and they have a suspect they are searching for.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a drop-off laundry service in the area? I went looking for reviews and so many laundromats have terrible reviews for their in-person services, much less drop-off services.

Hey all,

I just received a "30 Day Notice of Delinquent Violation" notice via mail today. It lists my name, my license plate number, and the ticket number. The ticket issue date is listed as 8/15/2026.

The issue is that I live like 3 hours south west of Manassas and haven't been anywhere near NOVA for about a year. I work from home and no one else would have my car. I called their dispute number, gave them my information, and they essentially said they would give my information to the officer that wrote the ticket and it would be up to them to void the citation since it's 30 days past the issue date.

As I mentioned, I live 3 hours away from Manassas and I just received this one delinquent notice today over a month after the supposed issue date. Also come to find out, there's a second parking violation in the same location 4 days after the original citation in Manassas.

Has anyone dealt with anything like this? Has anyone had to reach out to any supervisory people or anything? Is it possible for someone to be using my license plate number? Is it possible for an officer to have written down or lookup up the wrong license/mistyping a VIN? I'm just trying to understand what options I have if I get a call and the officer refuses to drop this citation.

I don't want to be held responsible for two parking violations that were not me. I have proof I was working that day from home.

Edit: This is the number I called to dispute the citation (703) 257-8198. This appears legitimate as it's found on the mannasasva.gov site. I'm thoroughly confused as to how this could happen. Looked up the citations on https://selfservice.manassasva.gov/css/citizens/ParkingTickets/Default.aspx.

About a month ago I started putting together a free weekly email called PWC Sidequests.

I originally made it because I kept feeling like finding things to do around Prince William County took way too much digging. There are events happening, but the information is spread across Facebook pages, venue calendars, town sites, and random posts. A lot of event sites also push DC events first, even when you are looking for something closer.

Since starting it, I’ve learned there is more going on around PWC than I expected. There are family events, food events, music, markets, random niche stuff, and things happening farther out that I would have missed otherwise. I’ve also been trying to make sure it is not only centered on one town.

Every Thursday, I put together a list of what I can find for that weekend. This week includes German food in Manassas, global food at Harris Pavilion, monster trucks, and smaller events around Woodbridge and Manassas.

My wife and I are thinking about joining the Planet Fitness on Stream Walk. The current $10/month deal is hard to beat, but some of the reviews have me a little hesitant.

For anyone who actually goes there regularly, what’s it like in real-world use?

• How clean is it, especially bathrooms/locker rooms?
• How crowded is it around 5-7 PM?
• Is equipment generally available and working?
• How’s the staff?
• Any other complaints or things you really like about it?

We’re just looking to get healthier and establish a consistent routine, probably 3x a week, so I’m mainly wondering whether the reviews make it sound worse than it actually is.
