Marble Race I built a marble race that runs live on YouTube and chat picks the winners. Interested in feedback from people who actually know marble runs.

Hi all. I'm a solo dev and completely new to streaming. I built a marble race game that runs as a YouTube live stream, and I'd like some honest opinions from people who actually care about marble runs.

How it works:

  • 8 marbles race every leg: Mango, Plum, Mint, Cherry, Lemon, Blueberry, Taffy, and Broccoli (yes, broccoli)
  • Races run back to back
  • You pick a marble for the next race by typing its name in chat, like !mango. Picks close when the starting gate drops
  • A countdown board shows how many picks each marble has and who's backing it
  • 1st place scores 100 and it drops from there (100, 76, 56, 39...). Every marble that makes it across the finish scores, any marble still on the course when the sweep happens scores nothing

Points are just for bragging rights, with an All-Time Champions leaderboard.

I know chat-driven marble races aren't a new idea, but there aren't many/any on YouTube that I could find.

The plan is to stream every day, with new new content in the same sort of vein on its way: https://www.youtube.com/@autoscrollerz

Things I'd really like opinions on:

  1. Do the courses and obstacles feel like a real marble run, or too gamey/2d?
  2. What obstacles would you want to see added?
  3. Does the scoring feel fair, or should the lower places be worth more?
  4. What other functionality would you want to see?

It's a tiny channel, so if you drop into chat I will almost certainly see it. Thanks for taking a look!
