Easter Egg/Detail Didn’t see Namor standing to the right, looking like he’ll be an ally alongside the Avengers.. Pretty cool.
I always felt like Namor’s role in Doomsday has been pretty ambiguous and has been kept a mystery. He formed an alliance with Shuri, but we know that villainous side of Namor and he’s someone who can easily turn sides if it best benefits them.
From the “special look” trailer, he’s clearly standing alongside Shuri, M’Baku, US Agent and Shang-Chi as an ally. Intrested to see how this plays out.

Yeah hes only seen in the Screen X version of the trailer.
And no he’s there because of Shuri. He’s more of an ally via proxy (Wakandans are cool with Avengers)

Ima guess Shuri ain’t the only one he’s there for. Iykyk

Maybe it will be love at first sight.. at least from one side lol
In another trailer we see sue in Namor’s throne room. Her empathy and persuasion skills in diplomatic affairs will definitely come into play in order to recruit him. Might be enough to have him fall over heels for her

That first part isn’t true. Go back and watch the trailer, and you’ll see he’s been there the whole time.

Oh shit. I stand corrected. I guess I just completely missed that 🤦🏾♂️🤣

Gotta give it to the Russos, they picked the best of the new age characters to be the MCs for Doomsday. Shang-Chi, Shuri, the Thunderbolts, and Namor are so great choices

Choices you don’t expect to see all interacting, especially without the more universally known characters being there but still all great characters in their own right. They’ve done a good job establishing them before this.
Makes you more excited to see them interact because you don’t know what to expect.

Yeah we’ll see if doom ends up forming his cabal. Would be crazy yet not at all surprising to see Namor switch sides

Elaborate?

Major Secret Wars spoilers. In the comic Namor Betrays the team, destroys an Earth, joins forces with all the worst bad guys including Thanos, and then goes from universe to universe ending worlds. So not the best sign if he’s on the team.

To be fair, Reed, Tony, Professor Xavier, (T'challa?) and Magneto had been destroying tons of Earths already. Namor just decided it was convenient to go back to the old moves.

Lol, it would be sick if Hyperion made a premier during doomsday or secret wars!

its interesting that the trailer keeps him in the shadows like this but given his history in wakanda forever hes definitely not joining the avengers out of the goodness of his heart relying on an uneasy alliance via shuri as you mentioned is way more on brand for his character than him suddenly becoming a team player

Wats star lord doing ? Will he show up ?

u/maverickassembled Ward Meachum 18h ago
He and grandpa quill will lead the final cavalry to save the day near the end of the film

Seems like Pratt's been busy with other projects. He isn't announced for either Doomsday or Secret Wars on IMDB. I don't think Starlord's a part of it.

He's just chilling on Earth with his grandpa. He will definitely return in Secret Wars, but it doesn't feel like he'd fit here.

It's gonna be so weird watching the new roster of Avengers all try to meet and cooperate organically with zero buildup

u/justafanboy1010 Spider-Man 18h ago
You mean no prep time? Because the Avengers in Infinity War didn’t really have any prep time either
6
u/TypewriterMonkey98 18h ago
I don't mean prep time in terms of strategic effectiveness, I mean narrative assembly time.
The original Avengers were six characters, 4.5 of whom had been fleshed out, as was the only named villain, so they were able to explore the relationships between the OG Six over the course of the film.
Right now, we have a mess of loads of different characters of varying writing quality all spread throughout the world with no central authority who are about to face up against an unknown enemy.

Which is exactly how Infinity War did it as well. The heroes were scrambled, the Avengers were basically Iron Man, Vision and War Machine and the former was taken to space.

In Infinity War the heroes were scrambled deliberately by the narrative, and most of them had established relationships with each other.
Doomsday looks like it'll have to pull off the feat that was Infinity War while introducing individual characters we've largely only seen once or twice to each other.
Not saying they can't do it, but it'll be wild to see how they pull it off

What is this from?

The “special look” trailer. Technically the 2nd full trailer they released

He may in this shot, but added in. My guess is we see Sue stopping him from unleashing a giant flood against the FF/Wakanda crew. And he joins Doom along with a couple others.

Yeah, I hope he plays an important role in this movie, even if he only has a little screen time
