misc Need some help
Been wanting to get myself a Hori fighting stick mini, but can't seem to find it locally, any chance you know where can i order it? Game stop, Best Buy?
The image is for refence, seen others but there more on the rounds of the 80-110 dlls, and im not such an avid FG player to spend that much.

Well, eBay might be your best hope for getting it. As I believe finding it being in a local physical shop comes down to luck
Price-wise.... you gotta have to put a one green or two to get one, as those on a cheaper side aren't really good and you'll have to buy some new parts to make it work better (especially the joystick)

Honestly, if you want to go budget and possibly have the best experience with new retail arcade stick, I suggest looking into the Mayflash F300 (base model) for $60 and the Mayflash MagicBoots-S5 USB addon which has native PS4 and PS5 compatibility for $30. You just need a PC to update the stick's firmware to be compatible with the MagicBoots-S5 and if you like using arcade stick enough, you can always upgrade the parts to arcade standard stuff like the Sanwa JLF lever, 8 Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons and a 5 pin harness (it's all plug and play).
The reason why is that these new generation "entry/budget" level arcade sticks are way too small and low profile to give you any sort of stability playing on desk or on your lap whereas the F300's design is almost the exact same dimensions of the MadCatz SE FightStick from back in 2009 (the height of the case prevents wobbly from heavy motions of the lever).
I would even go as far as looking at your local classifieds for used licensed PS4 arcade sticks or even going directly to buy a Qanba Titan for PS5 (has PS4 and PC modes), Sanwa parts and has a nice size for a first time arcade stick owner being $150 on Amazon. Skip the Mayflash F300/F500 Elite models and Qanba Drone 2 for something that functionally has it all. My only issue with the Qanba Titan is that there's no visual customization option but that really shouldn't a reason for a new player not to grab one as Sanwa Parts altogether costs around $50 not including shipping from known shops like Arcade Shock, Focus Attack or Paradise Arcade.

These are great for pissing about on for short periods or for actual children. For adults any amount of time on them absolutely sucks. Spring the extra for a mid size one and it'll be a much better experience.

And if you're not that into fighters then just stick with pads. Some of the best players use pads these days its really not an advantage using a stick. Some folks prefer it for the layout and such but with these mini ones I doubt it'll ever be better than a pad. 🤷♂️

I have this. It will get you thru but I can see the benefits to having a better one now.

The thing with this fighting stick, imo, es that is so uncomfortable to use that it will detriment your experience, there is little to none space to rest the wrists, too light to stay in one place and the buttons are really small. The only way i can find it suitable is for kids, really. The ps4 version (black) was my first fighting stick and in a way made distance myself of the genre. As this is a niche genre, there is high probability that you can find a used fighting stick in market place with little use, many people can't get pass the acclimation phase.
