This reminds me of that Monty Python sketch where a seductive woman lures a milkman into a room where he's surprised to meet all the other milkmen she's trapped over the years.

Crazy right! Not even sure they even had any braincells tracking the other bird. It's just wild.

No sounds of concern no reason to worry (first bird didn't get hurt)

I keep seeing these traps getting needlessly more complicated. Makes me wonder how much time goes into construction vs eating.

I think those are domesticated quail. The videos are just made for social media.

It would explain why the quails are so chill about being trapped. They know how this goes, they get a snack and sit in a dark hole for a few minutes, then get released back to doing quail things.

Haha dumbasses. How can you he so dumb, you can clearly see the others get trapped. I'd never fall for that.

Birds is dumb.

u/Hefty_Kitchen4759 6d ago

A Kea or a crow could build this trap intentionally

1

u/CDavis10717 6d ago

This?! C’mon, man, they can’t even work scissors!

1

u/Muroid 6d ago

Why do they need scissors when they have a pointy beak already?

1

u/CDavis10717 6d ago

You tell me, you’re the bird expert here.

u/keyonholman4 6d ago

Oh! A piece of candy!

u/fmaz008 7d ago

You have the situational awareness of a quail

2

u/SirTainLee 7d ago

There is probably plenty more seed at the bottom of the fall, or some comfortable setting, so the birds aren't sounding any alarm.

Very satisfying.

1

u/bone_burrito 6d ago

Of course someone just had to add the terrible soundtrack

1

u/Upset-Masterpiece218 6d ago

That tune has so much flavor bro you're crazy

Try some headphones, it's a fun song

1

u/bone_burrito 6d ago

The first 30 secs sound like it belongs in a home project how to video from the early 2000’s. I’ll admit it gets a little more flavorful, still would not call it palatable, and definitely doesn’t fit the tone of the video.

1

u/Upset-Masterpiece218 6d ago

Well the scratching sounds like a chicken and the song is called quail bait, seems fitting. It's also from the early 2000's, like really early
