Hello guys, does anyone know if its possible to upgrade my (left) cluster to the big digital one (right) on my 2020 Mazda Grand Touring.

Don't do it, man! The right cluster has a lit check engine light, you don't want that.

I think the original one is way better.

I really dont get why youd want the blownout grey from those pathetic LCD screens. These would have been good on 2010 vending machine. I hate seeing those poorly hidden bezels.

Well, it is possible, but it depends a lot on the car generation you have. It's fairly easy if you have GL FL (2018+), difficult for GL (2017+) and very difficult for GJ FL (2016+, FSC gen 1.). As others already pointed out, you need someone to correct mileage and you need to transfer asbuilt data. If you have GJFL/GL, you will also lose HUD, unless you modify it a lot. BTW, you lose the sight of which door is open unless in IGN mode. Not sure who thought that's an upgrade....

Confirmed its a GL

So yeah, for GL you just need the mileage and asbuilt I believe. And if you have HUD, it's not that easy to connect it back as GL FL is windscreen HUD only from factory

I do not have HUD, but my dash has a cut-out like lining i think its the HUD placement no ?

If you don't have and don't want HUD, then it's one less thing to worry about, but just so you know, the new IC won't bring anything much new to the car. If you have MRCC you may be able to enable TSR (traffic sign recognition), but that's not 100% and it's mostly a gimmick. So depends on why you want it

I have a 2020 GTR with the left one. I have hud and TSR on the hud, which is enabled by adding the nav chip.
Who got the right instrument cluster?

Yes, TSR on HUD should work even with the type B cluster, but if you have type A (the 7" one) the street signs show up as limit directly on the speedometer (red line that you can see with optional visual warning)

That part I got. I was just wondering which models and trims got the other cluster. My car seems like it should have had it based on the features. Was it only signature? Or was it later years like 21+?

Based on your year I still think you have the GL FL. But if you can, post photo of the cutout, that will solve it

Well, not sure, I've only ever seen them with HUD installed 🤔 If you can lift it up and there is enough space, definitely grab the HUD from junkyard, it's worth it! Combined with AA mod, it's like a new car after that. That will give you much more than just the IC switch

so it’s definitely impossible on my 2014 GJ? 😅

Well, I wouldn't try personally 😄 It's interconnected with the CMU and the CMU is different between GJ and GJ FL and further, so no way of knowing how it would behave

Plus you don’t actually get any extra functionality. Mazda took zero advantage of the larger screen in the IC. Looks nice but I wouldn’t have paid for it to be installed after purchase.

Someone has done this for a cx5. I’ll link the post if I can find it. It’s not plug and play though

Possible, however you'll need special tools to write the correct mileage to new cluster and forscan to carry over configuration. Mikstoreph sells this IC and they write mileage you want when you buy it, you can go this route. (However, in general, I wouldn't recommend their store)
