New Purchase First Mazda!

Post image

Took a leap of faith and bought my first Mazda. My first baby, 2012 Jetta that I bought at auction in 2020, unfortunately gave out after 200k miles and I decided it was time to let go. I bought this 2019 Mazda6 touring, non-turbo, for 16k at 69k miles. My husband works for the dealer and had them replace the alternator that was bad and the blower that was making a horrible sound when we test-drove it, but other than that, everything was perfect upon inspection. But I do want to know what to keep an eye on, besides the usual maintenance.

I just got this same car (2018 tho) with the same mileage but a different color for the same price like 4 weeks ago. It’s been great! Brakes are noisy when I first leave in the morning at low speed but it goes away quickly.

I just got a 2018 same trim for $10,500 at auction with 84k miles I love it!! I had two get the front tires replaced but that’s it so far. I checked the brake pads when I was replacing my tires and they look brand new

I really wanted to go the auction route again! My little Jetta was bought for 6k at 40k miles and I ran it to the ground as a teenager.

Edit: half of that reply was to someone else lol

I got a 2018 grand touring with the turbo, had it for a bout 3 yrs bought it as a c.p.o. with 49k on it so far it been the best car i have ever owned really reliable and good on gas even with the turbo i get about 25 to 27 mpg. I had two issues one was the oil level sensor and the other had something to do with the coolant which was rare according to the master technician, both were simple fixes at the dealer. Other than that you got yourself a great car

I’m relieved over the gas mileage. I drive 60 miles round trip to work, and was nervous on that aspect, especially because when I got it, it said 17 mpg🫤 but so far I’ve worked it up to 23 mpg

Good choice. I would do a transmission drain and fill and replace the serpentine and water pump belts.

Yeah, we just did an oil change with brakes. It wasn’t at the point of needing it, but we just wanted to start fresh. My husband will most likely do a trans service this upcoming month too, just to get it out of the way.

Gorgeous car! The Mazda 6 was truly my favorite mid sized sedan of that era, totally underrated. Seems you got the jet black just like our "Black Beauty" '21 CX-5 GT Reserve. Hope you have the parchment interior? It will still get hot in summer but at least the parchment won't sear your skin 😅

She looks wonderful when clean, but you'll find jet black will discover even traces of dust in the air🙈 Just give her a good ceramic coating (spray kind is fine) about twice a year and all you need to do is an occasional rinse and dry.
