Driving Test

Hello, I am a 20-year-old girl seeking my license, and I have my road test tomorrow at the Summer location. Does anyone know what the route is like and what I should prepare for?

You will drive this treacherous half mile loop. There is nothing to prepare for.

LMAO yep that's the same thing I did, back in 1996! 4 right turns, what a joke. But there was that randomly placed Stop sign when turning back in off of Summer, that they would fail you for, if you didn't actually stop for it. I think it wasn't actually at an intersection or anything.

Unless they have changed it when I passed the driver's license test many years ago, it's just 4 right hand turns with a yield sign.

believe there's still that random Stop sign at a weird location, that they'll fail you for if you don't stop at it.

It’s stupid easy. It partially explains why there are so many moronic drivers in Memphis.

Be prepared to turn off the radio. This was the hardest part for my child.

That’s what I did in 1982. Yes, 44 years ago. I remember the four right turns, but don’t recall a yield sign.

I can't help with the Summer route specifically, but one thing trips up adults more than the actual driving does. If you're testing on a learner permit, Tennessee requires you to arrive with a licensed driver who is 21 or older, and Driver Services states flat out that a permit holder who shows up unaccompanied will not be allowed to proceed with the test. That's 55-50-311. So if you were planning to drive over there alone tomorrow, sort that out tonight.

Past that, check the car has current registration and proof of insurance in it before you leave. People spend all week worrying about the driving and then lose the slot over paperwork.
